“Malbec rosé. Sustainable. Ripe cherry flavors with fresh strawberry and raspberry. Medium body with a long finish.”
Winery note “100% Malbec. Very aromatic (raspberry, wild strawberry, blueberry), with a pronounced pomegranate color. The palate is rich, vinous, and unctuous. Drink as an aperitif, or with BBQ and exotic fruits.”

Domaine Collotte Marsannay Rosé, Côte de Nuits 2019 750ML ($24.95) Was $19 Now $16, 21 bottles in stock now
Josh Raynolds-Vinous 90 points
“Vivid orange-pink color. Cherry, redcurrant, orange zest and a suave floral nuance on the mineral-inflected nose. Juicy and broad on entry, offering sappy red fruit flavors that are braced by building spice and mineral accents. Tightens up on a long, focused finish that echoes the floral and cherry notes.”
Importer note “Pinot Noir from clay & limestone soils. Sustainable. Ripe pomegranate, strawberries and raspberries. Medium body.”
VinopolNote “Marsannay is the only village in Burgundy that permits rosé bottled under its AOC.  As you might expect, the rosé from the village is outstanding stuff and Domaine Collotte’s offers excellent value (just like their reds, for what that’s worth).  Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the Marsannay rosé shows the dry and serious side of the genre, while managing to be delicious and fresh at the same time.  If you love Pinot rosé from the Willamette Valley, you owe it to yourself to try the original.”

Domaine de la Chapelle Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Saint Victor Rosé 2019 750ML ($19.95) Was $16.60 Now $14, 36+ bottles in stock now
No reviews for the 2019 vintage. 2018 review provided for reference.
Josh Raynolds, Vinous “Shimmering orange-pink. Racy and focused on the nose, displaying mineral-tinged strawberry and orange pith aromas and a subtle floral overtone. Dry, tangy and precise on the palate, offering taut red fruit flavors and a touch of bitter blood orange. Finishes with firm cut and good, mineral-driven tenacity.”

Eric Guido-Vinous 90 points
“The 2019 Terre Nere Etna Rosato is actually quite savory, and especially alluring in the glass, pulling me closer with notes of raw almond, dusty dried flowers, smoky tangerine and marine-inspired minerals. It’s silky with fleshy ripe melon and white orchard fruits, but also a salty character that mixes with its vibrant acids to create tension and poise, resonating on residual acids and inner florals.”
James Suckling 90 points “Medium-bodied with lots of cherry and citrus character, light tannins and a fruity finish. Fun and structured. Drink now.”
Wine & Spirits 90 points “Delicate floral scents introduce this wine; then racy acidity draws its flavors of juicy peach and soft red berries together in a graceful, refined finish.”

Giacomo Fenocchio’s Traditional Barolos

“Claudio [Fenocchio] is a master at crafting classic Barolos that beautifully express their pedigree…his noninterventionalist approach in the cellars ensures that their individual terroirs shine through.” –Kerin O’Keefe, Barolo and Barbaresco

Giacomo Fenocchio is a Barolo producer who manages to stay just below universal acclaim—the wines are traditionally made, powerful and excellent values, but the wines remain too overlooked, at least on the west coast. These are wines that have everything Piedmont collectors say they like in traditional Barolo—excellent vineyard sources, extended macerations, long aging in large casks and radiantly pure vineyard characteristics.

We have a few 2015 and 2016s remaining, all brilliant. The only clue that they’re from warm vintages are their tannin structures—firm but softer and silkier than usual. The 2015 normale is nearly a bistro wine, especially if you open it the morning you want to drink it. Nevertheless, the wines have a freshness and purity that sets them apart from previous warm years like 2009 and 2011.

In Stock Now:

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo DOCG, Piedmont 2015 750ML ($44.95) $37 special, 25 bottles in stock now
Kerin O’keefe-Wine Enthusiast 91 points
“Wild mint, woodland berry and underbrush aromas mingle with a floral note. The rounded, full-bodied palate offers Marasca cherry, botanical herbs, clove and tobacco alongside solid but polished tannins. Drink 2020–2027.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo DOCG, Piedmont 2016 750ML ($54.95) $44 special, 9 bottles in stock now
Monica Larner-Wine Advocate 90 points
“This is a hearty and slightly evolved expression. The Giacomo Fenocchio 2016 Barolo offers a broad range of Nebbiolo characteristics with lots of dark fruit followed by spice, tar and tilled earth. That licorice signature is very strong in this wine. The fruit veers toward heavier black and purple fruit tones, with plenty of tar and campfire ash. Instead of sharpness and precision, this Barolo offers a big-picture approach with wide, sweeping flavors.”

This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast today!

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia, Barolo DOCG 2015 750ML ($59.95) $49 special, 9 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni 94 points
“The 2015 Barolo Bussia is a wine of power, density and gravitas, all of which come through in its decidedly vertical feel and rather somber expression. A whole range of balsamic-infused notes wrap around a core of dark fruit as this potent Barolo shows off its distinctive personality. The 2015 needs time to be at its best, but it is unquestionably impressive, even in the very early going.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia, Barolo DOCG 2016 750ML ($59.95) $55 special, 33 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni 95 points
“The 2016 Barolo Bussia is a wine of tremendous character and complexity. Menthol, lavender, black cherry, graphite, cloves and leather all open up in the glass. Virile and layered, with tons of depth, the 2016 Bussia has so much to offer. A few years in the cellar will help the tannins soften, but the 2016 is already quite expressive. It is also one of the very finest wines I have ever tasted from Fenocchio.”

A Fantastic Rhône Value from Famille Perrin

Perrin is a legendary family in the wine world. They’re best known for their stewardship of Château Beaucastel, that benchmark of Châteauneuf du Pape, but they also make wines from other properties in the area. On offer today, the Vinsobres Les Hautes de Julien. The product of a fascinating mountainous region in the northern part of the southern Rhône, this Syrah is like a Cornas but with more fruit, texture, and garrigue. If you’re looking for generous Syrah that still has old-world soul, we can’t recommend this wine enough. And at Super Subscriber Special pricing, that much more.

In Stock Now & Priced to Move:

Famille Perrin Vinsobres Les Hauts de Julien, Rhône 2015 750ML ($49.95) $39 Super Subscriber Special, 36+ bottles in stock now
Case-6 Famille Perrin Vinsobres Les Hauts de Julien, Rhône 2015 750ML ($299.95) $219 Super Subscriber Special (that’s only $36.50/bottle!)
Jeb Dunnuck 95 points
“The 2015 Vinsobres Les Hauts De Julien comes from the Vinsobres region, which is a cooler terroir located in the northern part of the southern Rhône. Based largely on very old vine Syrah blended with Grenache, it offers a vibrant purple color as well as a sensational bouquet of blueberries, cracked pepper, violets, lavender, and exotic spices. Incredibly textured, full-bodied, deep, and opulent, with awesome purity of fruit, it’s another sensational vintage for this cuvée that would pass undetected in a blind lineup of top Cornas. Drink it anytime over the coming decade.”

Cameron Arley’s Leap Pinot Noir

Cameron Winery’s ‘Arley’s Leap’ Pinot Noir is a perennial smart buy. And the 2018 is no exception. Deep and concentrated, this wine pulls at you. So it came as no surprise when John Paul informed us that it was his favorite Pinot of the 2018 vintage. According to John, it’s basically the Julia bottling but with a barrel of Clos Electrique included this year.

Cameron Winery ‘Arley’s Leap’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2018 750ML ($59.95) $49 special, 36+ bottles in stock now

“Arley’s leap harkens from a block of Pinot noir planted in 1990 at Abbey Ridge Vineyard. The eponymous hero was Bill and Julia Wayne’s old dog Arley, who survived a jump from a second story balcony when startled by a cat.”

Pierre Gimonnet’s Pristine Blanc de Blancs

Gimonnet’s wines are pure, classic Blanc de Blancs Champagne. 98% of their vines are Chardonnay, and Didier Gimonnet’s devotion to cool, mineral-driven Champagne made from the grape borders on monastic. At their best, Gimonnet’s wines seem to have a quiet resonance, like a beautiful bell struck in a perfect quiet stone hallway. They draw you in, not with bombast or noise, but with a clear directness and purity of tone. Even the most basic of Gimonnet’s cuvées have elements of this and that pursuit of beauty and elegance makes them a perpetually top grower in Champagne.

The estate has been on a real roll over the last few years, keeping overall production unchanged but bottling a greater number of wines. The fractalization of their lineup has seemed to give each individual wine a greater identity and stronger personality, resulting in one of the most compelling sets of Blanc de Blancs in Champagne. Even the basic NV bottling has greater purity and poise than it used to—and it’s always been one of the best values in Champagne. We buy as much of these as we can and this past year was no exception—it’s a can’t-miss portfolio.

In Stock Now:

Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Blanc de Blancs Cuis Premier Cru Brut, Champagne NV 750ML ($59.95) $45 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Blanc de Blancs Cuis Premier Cru Brut, Champagne NV 375ML ($39.95) $29 special, 12 half-bottles in stock now
Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Blanc de Blancs Cuis Premier Cru Brut, Champagne NV 1.5L ($149.95) $109 special, 2 magnums in stock now
William Kelley-Wine Advocate 91 points
“Disgorged in July 2019 with six grams per liter dosage, the latest rendition of Gimonnet’s NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Cuis is based on the 2016 vintage, complemented by some 30% reserve wines matured in magnum. Offering up aromas of citrus oil, fresh peach, clear honey, white flowers and oyster shell, it’s medium to full-bodied, pillowy and elegantly fleshy, with crisp acids, elegant mousse and chalky back-end grip. Amounting to some 130,000 bottles per annum, this is Gimonnet’s largest cuvée by some margin.”
Antonio Galloni 91 points “The NV Blanc de Blancs Cuis 1er Cru is such a classic Gimonnet wine. Light on its feet and gracious, with soaring aromatics and tons of nuance, the 1er Cru is a winner. Bright floral overtones, citrus, brioche and apple are some of the many notes that are delineated in the glass. Among the entry-level wines in this range, the Cuis 1er Cru offers the best expression of the Gimonnet style at an affordable price. I loved it. Disgorged: March 16, 2019.”

This is the lowest listed magnum price in the USA today!

Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Blanc de Blancs Gastronome, Champagne 2015 750ML ($69.95) $54 special, 1 bottle in stock now
Wine Spectator 93 points
“This polished Champagne is rich with flavors of marzipan, pastry cream and crystallized honey, yet sleek acidity and a chalky, mineral-laced underpinning provide a vivacious frame. Finely knit and satiny in texture, this also offers notes of Asian pear, pickled ginger and spring blossom. Disgorged October 2019. Drink now through 2030.”

Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Blanc de Blancs Oenophile Premier Cru Non Dosé, Champagne 2012 750ML ($89.95) $74 special, 6 bottles in stock now
William Kelley-Wine Advocate 93 points
“The 2012 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Oenophile Non Dosé is showing very well, offering up a pure bouquet of citrus oil, wet stones and subtle hints of pan d’épices. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, deep and chalky, with an incisive spine of acidity that’s nicely integrated, good depth and concentration at the core and a long, mineral finish. Disgorged in April 2018 without dosage, it’s a steely Blanc de Blancs will appeal to more than just the purists.”

Pierre Gimonnet et Fils Cuvée Spécial Club Brut Millesime, Champagne 2014 750ML ($119.95) $89 special, 2 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni 94 points
“The 2014 Brut Spécial Club is a blend of fruit taken mostly from Cramant, with Chouilly and Cuis in supporting roles. The breadth and power of Cramant comes through loud and clear. Readers will find a potent, at times austere, Champagne that needs a bit of time in the cellar to soften. The Special Club does not offer the immediacy of the Chouilly or Cramant Special Clubs, but it has plenty of its own allure. Dried pear, spice, crushed flowers and chamomile are some of the aromas and flavors that linger on the imposing finish. Dosage is 4 grams per liter.”

This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast today!

In Stock Now:

Stéphane Robert Domaine du Tunnel Saint-Péray Cuvée Roussanne, Rhône 2018 750ML ($69.95) $59 special, 36+ bottles in stock now
Case-6 Stéphane Robert Domaine du Tunnel Saint-Péray Cuvée Roussanne, Rhône 2018 750ML ($419.95) $329 special
Jeb Dunnuck 96 points
“Starting with the 2018 Saint-Péray Roussanne, this cuvée is 100% varietal and is vinified in used barrels. It was bottled in July of this year and reveals a touch of green in its vivid gold color as well as notes of crushed citrus, lime, toasted bread, and flower oil. It’s a powerful, full-bodied white that stays pure, flawlessly balanced, and has a great, great finish. There aren’t many Roussanne whites out there better than this.”

Château de Saint Cosme Condrieu, Rhône 2018 750ML ($79.95) $59 special, 36+ bottles in stock now
James Suckling 93 points
“A very powerful, rich and attractively fleshy Condrieu with intense and concentrated fruit and a wealth of apricots and some baking spices on offer. The palate has such intensity and depth. Citrus and fleshy apricots abound. Drink in the next three years.”
Jeb Dunnuck 92-94 points “I was able to taste two vintages of Louis Barruol’s Condrieu, and both are terrific. The 2018 Condrieu comes from a cooler terroir near Malleval and offers lots of apricot, tangerine, and honeysuckle notes as well as classic Condrieu richness and depth on the palate. Medium to full-bodied, silky, and elegant, with plenty of granite character, it has a forward, fleshy style that’s going to shine right out of the gate.”
Importer Note “Saint Cosme Condrieu is produced from fully-ripened Viognier which Louis Barruol believes is essential to achieving the variety’s full potential. “But ripeness must not imply excessive alcohol,” says Barruol, “We seek balance.” The wine is matured for eight months in used 228-liter barrels and undergoes full malolactic fermentation on fine lees for 12 months. Saint Cosme Condrieu shows classic aromas and flavors of dried apricot, peach, and orange blossom with fennel, anise, and elderflower. Twelve months of aging on its fine lees in used Burgundian pièce brings texture to the palate. This is a classic Condrieu.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Delas Frères Condrieu Clos Boucher, Rhône 2017 750ML ($99.95) $69 special, 15 bottles in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 96 points
“Slightly deeper and richer, the 2017 Condrieu Clos Boucher offers beautiful notes of tangerine, honeyed limes, citrus, and brioche. It’s another fresher, elegant Condrieu that has bright acidity, medium body, and sensational balance. It’s as drinkable as they come and one of the gems in the vintage.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Northern Rhône – Red

In Stock Now:

Paul Jaboulet Aîné Saint-Joseph Domaine de la Croix des Vignes, Rhône 2012 750ML ($69.95) $59 special, 3 bottles in stock now
Wine Advocate 95 points
“The only Saint Joseph produced, the 2012 St Joseph Domaine de la Croix des Vignes is another incredible effort from this team. Coming from steep, granite soils and a vineyard located just beside the famed Vignes de Hospice, this beauty knocks it out of the park with its massive minerality, currants, rare beef and tapenade-like aromas and flavors. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured and still lively and elegant, it too will knock your socks off over the coming 15-20 years.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Ferraton Père & Fils Cornas Les Grands Mûriers Rouge, Rhône 2015 750ML ($69.95) $59 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Decanter 98 points
“Ferraton Père & Fils was established in 1946 by Jean Orëns Ferraton. His son, Michel, continued his work and added further to the range of wines. Today, Ferraton Père & Fils produces a huge range of Rhône wines from Hermitage to St-Péray, with added help from long-time friend Michel Chapoutier who, in 1998, introduced new appellations to the business, as well as creating a plot-selection approach and biodynamic practices. These changes have put Ferraton Père & Fils and winemaker Damien Brisset in the spotlight. Les Grands Mûriers is one of three Cornas wines produced. The vines are grown mainly on decomposed granite soils with the rest on clay and limestone. Gearoid Devaney MS: A classic Cornas that is brimming with ripe fruit and delicious spices. There is a beguiling blood-red meat and iron element here, and great energy and tension from the tannins. It needs time, but the finish is long. Simon Field MW: A traditional wine that is rigorous and magnificently unapproachable at present. It is tannic, firm and long; I am so pleased that this style still persists and flourishes – bravo! Matt Walls: Dense, herbal and oaky aromatics unfold elegantly onto a full-bodied, powerful and lush palate. It is full of plush fruit and muscular, thunderous power in an old-school style. There is a lot to enjoy here all the way to a long finish lengthened by fine tannins and piercing acidity. Drinking Window 2022 – 2034.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Domaine Vincent Paris Cornas La Geynale, Rhône 2018 750ML ($79.95) $69 special, 15 bottles in stock now
Josh Raynolds 95 points
“Opaque ruby. Highly aromatic aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, incense, exotic spices, violet and a hint of olive. Densely packed and lively on the palate, offering intense dark berry liqueur, floral pastille and salty olive flavors, a hint of smoky minerality and building spiciness. Finishes chewy, focused and extremely long, with mounting tannins lending shape and grip to vivid dark fruit and floral notes.”
Jeb Dunnuck 94-96+ points “The 2018 Cornas La Geynale is largely in the same style as the Granit 60, only with the gamey, bloody and meaty character (as well as tannins) turned up a notch. Black and blue fruits, rare meat, ground pepper, and wild herbs all give way to a structured, tannic wine that has beautiful purity and elegance. It’s not for those looking for instant gratification, however. This cuvée comes from a single parcel, is not destemmed, and will see 16 months in 2- to 8-year-old barrels.”

This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast today!

Southern Rhône – Red

In Stock Now:

Domaine Santa Duc Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Les Saintes Vierges’ Rouge, Rhône 2015 750ML ($69.95) $51.90 special, 23 bottles in stock now
Wine Advocate 95 points
“The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Saintes Vierges is the most flattering of Santa Duc’s current releases, offering lushness and generosity on the palate, notes of cherries and licorice, creamy-supple tannins and a mouthwatering finish. It’s a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Domaine de Fontavin Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée David & Goliath, Rhône 2016 750ML ($69.95) $56 special, 28 bottles in stock now
Wine Advocate 96 points
“An impressive follow-up to the 2015 version, the 2016 Châteauneuf du Pape David et Goliath is full-bodied, creamy and plush, showing remarkable richness, length and purity, without excessive ripeness or weight. Cherry and peach fruit picks up hints of dried spices, thyme and bay leaf on the long finish. It’s almost all old-vine Grenache, sourced from the rolled stones of the Les Saummades lieu-dit and aged in demi-muids.”

Domaine de la Solitude Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Barberini, Rhône 2016 750ML ($79.95) $66 special, 11 bottles in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 96 points
“Darker colored and more modern in style, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Barberini is a parcel selection of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre, aged in 40% new oak. Despite the new oak, it stays firmly planted in the southern Rhône and is a rich, opulent, gorgeously layered wine. With some background oak in its blackberries, cassis, toasted spice, and graphite aromas and flavors as well as a touch of chocolate, it’s full-bodied, powerful, and concentrated on the palate, with terrific balance and length. It’s approachable today but will be better in 2-3 years and keep for two decades.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Le Clos du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Safres, Rhône 2016 750ML ($79.95) $69 special, 5 bottles in stock now
Wine Advocate 95 points
“Sourced from the lieu-dit of Les Bédines, the 2016 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Safres is 95% Grenache, with the remainder being a mix of other permitted varieties. Like the other wines from Le Clos du Caillou, it shows great intensity and purity. Flowering garrigue accents black cherry fruit in this full-bodied, fresh, vibrant and intense wine, which ends with a burst of bright orange zest and waves of silky tannins.”
Jeb Dunnuck 95 points “The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Safres comes from more sandstone soils and is mostly Grenache. Spice strawberries, kirsch, dried herbs, flowers, and ample sandy, stony notes all emerge from this fleshy, medium to full-bodied, structured wine that has the classic weightless texture of the estate. This beauty has an exotic edge as well as a distinct salinity and is the finest version of this cuvée to date.”

Collector’s Corner

Chézeaux’s Affordable 2017 Burgundies

“From the moment we encountered Chézeaux’s 2017s, shortly after they completed malolactic fermentation, we knew this was a special, potentially career-making collection. The wines, which had been neither racked nor sulfured at that point, raised goosebumps with their purity of fruit, their startling transmission of site character, and their haunting equilibrium; these are wines into which one can peer deeply. From a relatively problem-free growing season whose warmth expressed itself in the fruit much differently than the similarly solar 2015 and 2016, the 2017s “found their structure over some élevage,” Jérôme remarks, calling it a “very Pinot” vintage… These 2017s are uniformly ultra-fine and lifted, with remarkably well rendered and supple tannins, and an underlying mineral freshness, and they are quite accessible at this youthful stage—even the typically colossally stern Clos de Vougeot—though their impeccable balance will allow them to develop beautifully. Worth emphasizing is the almost shockingly sane pricing in effect at this domaine, which makes these wines irresistible for the prudent collector, especially given their current level of quality.” – Neal Rosenthal

Jérôme Chézeaux makes wines that epitomize our favorite sort of Burgundy. Age-worthy, fine and built on a core of minerality, but priced a tier below what the wines deliver. Make no mistake about it—Chézeaux makes wines that can be poured with the finest producers in Nuits, but cost 25% less. In a vintage like 2017 he really shines, as the warm year buttresses his mineral style with a bit broader shoulders and more fruit. The three Premier Cru Nuits-St. George wines are of particular note—they’re incredible values and are only slightly more expensive than some producer’s village bottlings.

In Stock Now:

Jérôme Chézeaux Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Charbonnières Vieilles Vignes, Côte de Nuits 2017 750ML ($69.95) $59 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Importer note
“With the 2011 vintage, and with our encouragement, Jérôme began separating out his oldest villages-level parcel—a 0.67-hectare holding of 80-year-old vines in Les Charbonnières, situated just below the premier cru Aux Corvées on the slope in the appellation’s southern sector. Boasting true old-vines power, this is always thicker-fruited and more exuberantly spicy than its counterpart above, with greater length. Its lusciousness, however, does nothing to mask the underlying complexity that sets this cuvée apart.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Jérôme Chézeaux Les Prulieres, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru 2017 750ML ($99.95) $79 special, 7 bottles in stock now
Importer note
“The smallest-production premier cru in Chézeaux’s cellar, Les Pruliers lies near the border of Nuits-Saint-Georges and Premeaux-Prissey in the southern part of the appellation. Jérôme works a mere tenth of a hectare here—a parcel of extremely old vines that produce a wine of warmth and generosity. More full-bodied than the Rue de Chaux above, its fruit is pitched toward the black, and, while not heavy-handed in the slightest, it emphasizes robustness over sleekness.”

This is the lowest listed price on the West Coast today!

Jérôme Chézeaux Rue de Chaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru 2017 750ML ($89.95) $75 special, 6 bottles in stock now
Importer note
“Located almost dead-center in the appellation, Rue de Chaux is perhaps the most quintessentially “Nuits-Saint-Georges” among Chézeaux’s premier crus. Jérôme owns a mere 0.29 hectares in this steep, topsoil-deficient vineyard, and his ever-elegant touch yields a wine of both grace and power. Darkly fruited, dense, and slightly brooding, it also offers an enchanting savory-spicy perfume.”

Jérôme Chézeaux Les Vaucrains, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru 2017 750ML ($99.95) $85 special, 1 bottle in stock now
Importer note
“Nuits-Saint-Georges famously possesses no grand cru vineyards, but Les Vaucrains is widely considered one in all but name. Always the most complete of Chézeaux’s premier crus, Vaucrains rumbles with tension—an authoritative wine that exudes an impression of depth and solidity. Here, the fruit, mineral, and savory elements bind together more tightly, more seamlessly. Jérôme owns just over a quarter-hectare of east-facing vines in Vaucrains, and his conservative oak regimen—never more than one-third of the barrels are new—highlights the power of the terroir itself.”

Jérôme Chézeaux Nuits-Saint-Georges, Côte de Nuits 2017 750ML ($69.95) $52.50 special, 35 bottles in stock now
Importer note
“Chezeaux’s holdings of villages-level Nuits-Saint-Georges encompass 3.3 hectares spread throughout the appellation, with a significant proportion from the vineyards of Aux Saint Julien and Chaliots. In keeping with the spirit of the underlying terroir, this is wilder in character than the Vosne-Romanée, marked by notes of iron, and with a rambunctious bent to its tannins. Never deficient in fruit, it offers plenty of earth and sous-bois elements as well, all in a driving fashion.”

Jérôme Chézeaux Chaumes, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru 2017 750ML ($99.95) $89 special, 5 bottles in stock now
Importer note
“Les Chaumes lies at the southern edge of Vosne-Romanée, immediately below the hallowed premier crus Aux Malconsorts and La Tache on a vein of limestone and marl. Chézeaux owns four-tenths of a hectare here, producing a wine that marries the exotic spice and succulent fruit of Vosne-Romanée with the mineral force of Nuits-Saint-Georges in ravishing fashion.”
