With fruit from Serralunga d’Alba, there is ethereal softness here, but this characterization is relative considering the ample power and depth always associated with this site.” Giacomo Conterno Barolo Cerretta DOCG 2018 750ml $249 special, 12 bottles arriving Wine Advocate 95-97 “…shaping up to be a beauty. What stands out most at this very young stage is the quality and the elegant tightness of the tannins. Burghound “An elegant and ripe nose combines notes of violet, red and dark currant and a whiff of crushed fennel. There is an appealing texture to the middle weight flavors that terminate in firm, serious and youthfully austere finish. This is really quite good for its level and worth considering.” Meo-Camuzet Bourgogne Cote d’Or Cuvee Etienne Camuzet 2020 750ml $59 special, 3 bottles arriving Wine Advocate “Unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, red berries and loamy soil, the 2020 Bourgogne Côte d’Or Cuvée Étienne Camuzet is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with excellent concentration, lively acids and ripe tannins.” Meo-Camuzet Bourgogne Cote d’Or Hemisphere Sud 2020 750ml $69 special, 3 bottles arriving Wine Advocate “Unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, red berries and loamy soil, the 2020 Bourgogne Côte d’Or Cuvée Étienne Camuzet is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with excellent concentration, lively acids and ripe tannins.” Meo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges, Cote de Nuits 2020 750ml $119 special, 2 bottles arriving John Gilman 91 points “…The wine offers up a classy aromatic constellation of black plums, dark soil tones, gamebird, coffee bean, woodsmoke and a deft framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with fine transparency and grip, ripe tannins and lovely length and grip on the bouncy and complex finish. Fine juice. 2030-2065.” Meo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanee, Cote de Nuits 2020 750ml $159 special, 1 bottles arriving Wine Advocate 90-92 points “Aromas of wild berries, plums, warm spices and loamy soil, framed by a deft touch of toasty new oak, introduce Méo’s 2020 Vosne-Romanée Village, a medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated wine that’s bright and vibrant, built around powdery tannins and concluding with a penetrating finish.” Meo-Camuzet Les Chaumes, Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru 2020 750ml $249 special, 1 bottles arriving Wine Advocate 91-93 points “The 2020 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet cherries, cassis and rose petals, framed by a discreet patina of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a saline finish, it is very promising.” Meo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2019 750ml $419 special, 2 bottles arriving Vinous 95-97 points “The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins. This is a juicy Clos de Vougeot, a little savory and quite peppery on the finish, which you might misconstrue as a result of some stem addition. Sculpted with Jean-Nicolas Méo’s finest chisel, this is a wonderful Clos de Vougeot.” Meo-Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2020 750ml $499 special, 2 bottles arriving Wine Advocate 93-95 points ” The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is very promising, unfurling in the glass with aromas of wild berries, cherries, orange rind, potpourri and loamy soil.” Meo-Camuzet Aux Brulees, Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru 2020 750ml $799 special, 3 bottles arriving Vinous 95-97 points “The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru is very poised on the nose, quite intense although it is a slow-build, gradually adding another layer of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, quite elegant and pure with a judicious touch of spice towards the finish. Great tension and quite sophisticated, this Aux Brûlées should age with style.” Meo-Camuzet Au Cros Parantoux, Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru 750ml $3499 special, 2 bottles in stock John Gilman 97+ points “Jean-Nicolas’ 2020 Cros Parantoux is another stunning wine. The bouquet is pure, complex and still fairly primary, offering up a celestial combination of red and black plums, a touch of raspberry, black cherries, duck, Vosne spices, a complex base of stony soil tones and nutty new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very deep, with lovely sappiness buried in the core, exquisite mineral drive and grip, ripe, suave tannins and a very, very long, complex and perfectly balanced finish.” Wines of The Loire Valley Wines of the Loire Valley
Known as the “garden of France,” for the enormous amount of agriculture produced in this region, the Loire was an early adopter of organic and biodynamic viticulture, not because it was trendy, but because it was reflective of the natural farming techniques practiced in the region for centuries.
The Loire’s wines are known for their elegance and versatility, making them a dream come true for food pairing and dinner parties, but also feature wines of great repute and ageablilty. This week, we’re taking a trip through the wine producing regions of the Loire, starting at the mouth of the Loire river and working east.

It is our pleasure to offer these wines from one of the most exclusive Champagne houses in France. Founded in 1825 by Henri-Marc de Venoge, a Swiss immigrant to the region, these wines are still made in a traditional style rarely seen in modern Champagnes. While most champagnes these days are made in a crisp, fresh, but brittle style, the champagnes of De Venoge undergo Malolactic fermentation, resulting in a rounder, fatter, elegant style that can age for decades. Luckily, the winery has done the hard work already (resisting the temptation to pop the cork) and aged these wines for immediate consumption. Most of the bottles produced by De Venoge never leave their country of origin, most that does leave France is allocated to high end restaurants in London. This is a rare opportunity to drink a wine with a longer history than many countries! 5% off 3-5 bottles of De Venoge 10% off 6 bottles of De Venoge SALE ENDS WEDNESDAY AT 6PM!!! De Venoge Cordon Bleu Brut 2002 750ml $79 special, 12 bottles in stock
Wine Spectator 93 points “A core of mineral-accented smoke, spice and honey notes is wrapped with flavors of glazed apricot, lemon preserves and candied ginger in this vibrant and well-balanced version. Creamy, with a lasting finish. Drink now through 2025.” Only 3,000 cases made. De Venoge Louis XV Brut 2006 750ml $189 special, 20 bottles in stock Wine Advocate 96 points “The assemblage of the 2006 Louis XV Brut Millésimé is about the same as the 1995 and 1996—composed of 50/50 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, all from grand cru villages. The only difference is that the Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (10% of the assemblage) spent 12 months in oak barrels … the 2006 has a golden color and opens with a deep, ripe, elegant and vinous bouquet with toasty and chalky lemon and fresh.” De Venoge Louis XV Brut 2008 750ml $249 special, 20 bottles in stock James Suckling 95 points “This is really punchy and broad-shouldered with muscular structure and citrusy undertones. Full body. Lightly tannic and a fresh and vivid finish. This is the first vintage without malolactic Fermentation ever. One for the cellar. Better in 2022“ De Venoge Louis XV Brut Rose 2002 750ml $189 special, 23 bottles in stock Wine Spectator 93 points “Harmonious, with fine intensity, offering rich notes of spice cake, toasted almond, dried cherry, grilled plum and smoky mineral. Almost velvety in texture, with juicy acidity that brings you back for another sip. Delicious. Drink now through 2022.” Only 54 cases made. Christophe Baron “Les Alouettes” Brut Nature 2016 1.5L $259 special, 5 bottles in stock Antonio Galloni 94 points “…ample and broad, with a real sense of volume that grows over time. Layered and beautifully resonant, the Alouttes is also the most sensual and immediate of these wines. Even with all of its intensity, the Alouttes is translucent and so expressive, even in the early going. Spice, dried pear, flowers and nutty accents linger.” Christophe Baron “Les Alouettes” Brut Nature 2017 1.5L $259 special, 8 bottles in stock Wine Advocate 95 points “…excellent, bursting with aromas of golden orchard fruit, warm spices, honeycomb, plums and toasted bread. Full-bodied, fleshy and vinous, it’s rich and sapid, with a layered core of fruit, a pretty pinpoint mousse and a long, saline finish. Seamless and complete, this bottling is particularly strong this year.” Christophe Baron Champagne Dessus Marie 2016 1.5L $279 special, 1 bottle in stock Vinous 96 points “…a wine of cut and precision. Lemon confit, spice, baked apple tart and pear notes abound. Here the expression is all about energy, tension and delineation. Tangerine oil, spice, crushed rocks and white flowers add the closing shades of complexity.” Christophe Baron Champagne Dessus Marie 2017 1.5L $259 special, 4 bottles in stock Vinous 96 points “…bright, focused and incredibly energetic. Soaring mineral and saline notes cut through a core of orchard fruit, citrus, white flowers, mint, crushed rocks and spice… all the elements are there for it to be tremendous in a few years’ time. Actually, it already is. Floral and mineral notes reappear on the finish, adding notable lift.” Christophe Baron Champagne Hautes Blanches 2017 1.5L $269 special, 6 bottles Vinous 95 points “… a rich, burnished wine. Deep in color and intensity from tiny yields, the Hautes Blanches is a rich Champagne endowed with notable textural breadth and energy. Orange peel, hazelnut, dried flowers, chamomile, tangerine oil and light oxidative notes build in this powerhouse Meunier. The red fruit character of Meunier is so expressive. This is an especially vinous style, even for Christophe Baron.” These wines are exclusive to Vinopolis in the Oregon market!
