Subscriber-Only Larkmead SalePrices So Good, They Can’t be on Our Website

It’s our pleasure to offer you some pricing on Larkmead that’s too good for the website.  As you might expect, this top Napa estate is rather sensitive about “brand image” and so doesn’t want massive discounts to its wines made public.  That’s fine with us—this is between us and you, our newsletter subscribers, but pay attention because we’re talking massive, massive price reductions.

The Only Reason to Buy Celebrity Wine

Generally speaking, we’re not big fans of celebrity wineries.  They tend to be overpriced vanity projects that, while often quite good, are overpriced relative to their peers.  When we have the chance to offer those wines at very significant discounts, though, we change our tune.Case in point: Jim Nantz’s California project, called “the Calling” (he’s a sports announcer, get it it?).  Made by Dan Goldfield, Wayne Donaldson and James MacPhail (a veritable who’s who of high scoring California winemakers), these are excellent renditions of California Chardonnay, Pinot and Cabernet.

Borgogno Delivers Age-Worthy Beauties for the Collector

“To be stubborn means not easily abandoning one’s ideas. Even today, after 250 years, wines are made in full respect of tradition: without the use of chemical additives in the vineyards and with spontaneous fermentations in concrete tanks and aging in large Slavonian oak casks in the cellar.”Borgogno

Looking for über-traditional, back vintage Barolo at outstanding prices? The answer to that question is of course yes.  We’re offering some wines from Borgogno today at prices that are absolute steals—up to $20 per bottle less than our closest competitors.
