A 24 Hour Sale

On the Best Produttori Normale Ever

10% off the 2016 Produttori Normale Barbaresco for one day only

The Produttori del Barbaresco is a unique producer in the world of wine—a co-op which is nonetheless the definitive producer in their region. Barbaresco vintages are judged based on whether or not the Produttori decides to bottle their set of single-vineyard riservas and their flagship “Normale” is often the first bottle of Barbaresco wine drinkers try.

The Most Undervalued Estate in Brunello?

If geography were destiny, La Fortuna would be one of the most famous estates in Brunello.  It’s lucky for you and us, though, that their impeccable wines fly under the radar—the pricing for these beauties is well under what the market generally asks for this sort of quality.

La Fortuna’s vineyard sits smack dab in the middle of some of the best names in Brunello, just barely west of the town of Montalcino.  Casanova di Neri is barely more than a half mile east on the same ridge and Fuligni is the next address on their street.

A Quick, Important Note About Tariffs

By this time, we hope you’ve seen the news that the Office of the US Trade Representative is considering a 100% tariff on all European wines. This comes after the 25% tariff that went into effect in October on some wines.  If this tariff comes into effect, you will be directly affected. We’re very certain that most of you would not want to pay for trade disagreements regarding Boeing, Airbus, Google, Facebook and other international tech and social media companies. These have nothing to do with wine.

There are very few wines that are in the same class as Valle Reale’s 2018 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.  Only bottlings from legendary producers like Valentini (2012 – 94+ Vinous, $300+) or Emidio Pepe (2016 – 94 Vinous, $80+) have scored as highly as the 94 points that Ian d’Agata awarded to Valle Reale’s most recent release.  The big difference between those two and Valle Reale? Price. Valle Reale’s 94 point bottling costs just $14, or $12.42 by the case.

Champagne Christophe Baron

Christophe Baron is best known as the winemaker and founder of Cayuse, in Walla Walla, where he makes a range of wines that inspire cult-like fervor and desire.  It’s not well known that he hails from Champagne, returning there early in the decade to start making bubbles under his own name.  We’re proud to be one of the few retailers in the country to present the first of those champagnes—the 2014 Champagne Christophe Baron.
