Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of 2020

Re-Arrives January

Critics have been gushing over Marqués de Murrieta’s 2010 Castillo de Ygay since its release, omitting few superlatives while praising the wine. So it came as no surprise when it was recently announced as Wine Spectator’s top wine of 2020.

Having already sold the last of our initial allotment, we were able to orchestrate another Vinopolis coup and wrestle another case and half from the local importer.

Pre-Arrival Special Sale – Limited Case-6 Offer!

Deep and concentrated. This wine pulls at you. It’s no surprise that John Paul announced to us that it is his favorite wine of the vintage. He referred to it as basically the Julia bottling, but with some Clos Electrique added. Just as this site shares the vineyard material with the estate vineyard, it also includes a barrel of Clos Electrique this year…

Arriving Friday, December 11th:

Cameron Winery ‘Arley’s Leap’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2018 750ML ($59.95) $49 pre-arrival special
Case-6 Cameron Winery ‘Arley’s Leap’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 2018 750ML ($319.95) $275 pre-arrival special (that’s only $44.83/bottle!)

Cayuse Vineyards Flying Pig, Walla Walla Valley 2017 750ML ($179.95) $149 special, 1 bottle in stock now

“Bright red-ruby. Aromas of blueberry, black cherry, raspberry, graphite and spices, plus hints of violet and rose petal. Juicy, savory and fine-grained, offering a lovely light touch and a silky texture in the middle palate. This highly distinctive wine struck me as midway between Bordeaux and Rhône in its aromatic character. No impression of heaviness at all, in spite of the wine’s velvety texture.

Congratulations to Beaux Frères

#9 in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2020

Beaux Frères is one of the great names in Oregon wine—a producer that helped put the Willamette Valley on the map. Big, rich wines with lots of character (plus a familial relation to the Mayor of Monkton) mean that these wines were some of the first collectable bottles from our corner of the wine world.

Beaux Frères’ continued excellence was recently rewarded by Wine Spectator, who recognized the 2018 Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir as its #9 wine of 2020.
