Santa Duc’s Regal Gigondas & Châteauneuf

Gigondas is the finest source of value for profound wine in the Rhône. The top estates deliver wines that compete with the very best wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but at prices that are a fraction of their peers. Our Subscriber Special today, Santa Duc, is one of the very best in the region.

Santa Duc is perhaps the only estate who can match Saint Cosme as the “Most Important Winery in Gigondas”.

Bibi Graetz’s 100-Point Testamatta

Testamatta, which means “crazy head” in Italian, is a nod to Bibi Graetz’s eccentricity. A creative and passionate man, Graetz crafts some of Italy’s most impressive wines at his self-described Casamatta (“crazy house”). But don’t be fooled by Graetz’s self-deprecating humility, one taste of his wines will shatter any illusions that these are humble plonk. The brilliance of the wine suggests that there surely must be a method to the madness.

Henri Boillot is an undisputed top producer of white Burgundy, vinifying wine after wine that turns heads and captures hearts. The first of our allocation of 2018s arrive this Friday and we are excited to feature them again to you today.

2018 already seems poised to be a legendary year in the Côte d’Or, inviting comparisons to 1947 (by Phillipe Pacalet, nonetheless!)

Francesco Rinaldi

Subscriber Special

The estate of Francesco Rinaldi crafts wines that offer everything we’re looking for in Piedmont—traditionally made and affordable. Stylistically they are elegant and approachable, blending the inherent power of Barolo (especially in a vintage like 2015) with a softer touch in extraction. These are thrilling wines that are always priced very attractively, an amazing feat considering the history and renown of the estate. They’re best known for their two cru bottlings, Cannubi and Brunate, which are from a couple of the most storied vineyards in all of Barolo.
