August Clearance Sale Roundup

Reloading the Hottest Deals of Last Week

This past week saw two smashing deals—one on Aldo Conterno’s Bussia Barolo and one on the beautiful Scott Paul Pinots.  We sold them hand over fist and demand still hasn’t let up, so we’ve got more of each arriving this week. After this next drop, though, they’ll be gone for good.

The common theme for these two wines is pricing—we’re offering both the Aldo Conterno and the Scott Pauls far below their usual asking price.

Orin Swift’s Top Catalan Sensation

At the Best Price in the Country

Orin Swift makes a bit of wine in southwestern France—big powerful bottles that are probably even better than the wines produced in California.  They come from old, old vines in the Cotes Catalanes and we’re getting the top wine from that project, Pharoan, tomorrow. This is a wine not to be missed for lovers of the producer and a mere 18 bottles arrive tomorrow.

Orin Swift Department D 66 ‘Pharaon’, IGP Cotes Catalanes 2014 ($189.95) $136 pre-arrival special
Wine Advocate 95 points “The top wine is the 2014 IGP Cotes Catalanes Pharaon, and it’s a barrel selection that ended up being an even split of Grenache and Syrah that was aged in 75% new French oak.

“Bright violet. Smoke-tinged dark berries and pungent flowers on the nose. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors that take a sweeter turn on the back half.
