El Enemigo

A Powerful New Voice in Argentina

What if we told you that the longtime winemaker for Catena had his own project?  That he wanted to push the limits of what was possible for Argentine wine? That somehow, despite this, the wines remain under the radar and undervalued?  If you’re searching for the pinnacle of South American wine, look no further—these are the wines you need to be buying next.

Alejandro Vigil is the winemaker for El Enemigo, his winery named for the struggle against complacency, and was the winemaker at Catena for 17 years.

“I tasted a pleasantly high number of excellent, even outstanding, pink wines since we began our coverage of this year’s new releases in June.

Aldo Conterno and Scott Paul

This past week saw two smashing deals—one on Aldo Conterno’s Bussia Barolo and one on the beautiful Scott Paul Pinots.  We sold them hand over fist and demand still hasn’t let up, so we’ve got more of each arriving this week. After this next drop, though, they’ll be gone for good.

The common theme for these two wines is pricing—we’re offering both the Scott Paul and the Aldo Conterno far below their usual asking price.
