Louis Roederer

One of the most esteemed Grand Marques of Champagne, Louis Roederer has become synonymous with quality and sustainability. Converting their estate vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming practices and high-density plantings, which all help lower yields and improve quality, these are meticulously farmed plots that are each vinified separately for precision blending. Favoring Chardonnay, the resulting wines are among the most age-worthy and elegant on the market.

Roederer’s Cristal is one most sought-after bottlings in Champagne—a tête du cuvée that always lives up to the (enthusiastic) hype.

Holiday Bordeaux for Any Budget 12-24-23

190+ Bordeaux Wine Tasting Stock Photos, Pictures & Royalty-Free Images - iStock

Somewhere in the last 10 years we started to forget about Bordeaux. Maybe it was the advent and rush of the natural wine movement and ‘new school’ wines , or perhaps it was the increase in perceived luxury following the legendary 09′ and 10′ vintages. It could even have been a slow shift in perception towards the idea that Bordeaux is less of a wine to drink and more of a collectible to be boasted about. The likely truth is that all of these factors have influenced the new and old American wine enthusiast to overlook some of the greatest wine made on the planet.

That is nowhere near an exaggeration. In case you haven’t noticed, Cabernet, Merlot, and the usual Bordeaux blend suspects are capable of making absolutely stunning wines all over the world.

Lebeau-Batiste:

A Crowd-Pleasing Grower with History to Spare

The utterly charming wines of Lebeau-Batiste are crafted with great respect for the land and winemaking traditions. These are crowd-pleasing wines full of fruit and zest. Given the size of production and how supremely delicious these wines are right out of the gate, it’s no surprise these are not well known or distributed this side of the Atlantic.

Eric Lebeau and Anne-Marie Batiste farm and make wine for their family estate, which dates back to the 14th century. This grower estate is nestled in the heart of the Chavot-Courcourt, a village just south of Epernay in the Coteaux Sud d’Epernay.
