E. Guigal Condrieu La Doriane, Rhone 2015 750ML ($119.95) Buy Now: $89 pre-arrival special, ETA September 2017
Wine Advocate 99 pointsEasily one of the greatest Condrieu I’ve ever tasted is the 2015 Condrieu La Doriane. A wine that needs to be tasted to be believed, it possesses a huge nose of toasted brioche, liquid rocks, apricot, flower oil and salty minerality. Unctuous, full-bodied, massively rich, yet also elegant and graceful, with beautiful freshness, enjoy this tour de force over the coming 5-6 years.” – Jeb Dunnuck

Searching For Perfection: The 100 point Chateau Pavie 2000

March 2017
pavie

There’s a world of difference between 99 and 100 points. In terms of prestige, collectability and rarity, that extra point might as well be a hundred.  The 2000 Bordeaux vintage, when it was released, was hyped as the “millennium vintage” both because of the date and because of the quality relative to any vintage of the 90’s (and earlier). In 2000, no wine generated more hype than Chateau Pavie.  One of the standout wines of the right bank, it received a 100 point score from Robert Parker in a retrospective tasting and has cemented itself as one of the classic Bordeaux of recent memory.  We have a single magnum to offer–a rarity of the first order. We hope it might find a good home in your cellar.… Read the rest

James Suckling 98 points “This is really fantastic on the nose with blackberry, blueberry, lavender, and violets. Even sage. Full body plus extremely integrated tannins that are polished and refined. The balance and harmony is phenomenal. Goes on for minutes. Beautiful now but will satisfy for decades. (5/3/16)”

Robert Parker 96 points “The 2013 Proprietary Red Wine has always been good, but I think they have re-positioned themselves at a much higher pinnacle with the 2013. This is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend but has important component parts such as Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot from their gorgeous vineyards just off the Silverado Trail in Rutherford.… Read the rest
