BOND Estates Sale! 6-16-24

BOND - Winery | Wine-Searcher

Napa Valley makes some some of the finest wines on planet Earth. Which means the best wines from Napa are literally some of the greatest wines on Earth. Bond Estates is in that category year after year. This project from Bill Harlan (yes THE Bill Harlan) is about as far humanity can currently reach into producing ultra high-end cabernet sauvignon with our current knowledge of viticulture and winemaking. Harlan employs 55 full-time vineyard workers to nurture and ultimately hand-select only the most pristine grape clusters for the finished single-vineyard wines. The vineyard sites themselves were curated after more than a decade of research and quality testing to uncover which plots produced wine of the utmost pedigree.

Naturally, these wines are extremely limited.

Provence Rosé Sale Starts Now 6-15-24

Provençal Rosés

Your Three-Day Discount Starts Now

The sheer joyfulness and summertime vibe captured in a glass of Provençal can easily charm us into forgetting the seriousness and history of the region. For nearly 3,000 years, Provence has been a winemaking region. These fragrant lands have been planted to vines since before the Roman Empire, heck since before even the Roman Republic was established.

Provence roses on tableSo, what has captivated the palates of 26 centuries of wine drinkers? Why do we still care year after year after year after year? What siren’s song draws wine makers and drinkers from around the globe just to make, of all things, rosé?

Could it be the affordability? Much like in Oregon, great bottles rarely top $100 and the vast majority still haven’t breached the $30 mark.

Turley Wine Cellars White Zinfandel, Napa Valley, USA 2023 750ml $24 special, 12 bottles available
Winery Note “We select a few of our Zinfandel vines to pick early (at 19 brix) to make this vivid, dry rosé. Pale rose petals and fraise du bois with a touch of petrichor on the nose. The palate is high in acid, low in alcohol, well-structured and thoroughly refreshing. Fermented in stainless steel, then aged only in used French barriques. Though akin to Provençal rosés in the way it’s made, this wine is distinctly Californian. White Zinfandel has a good heart but a bad reputation; hopefully we can help change that.”

Paolo Scavino.

“Enrico Scavino, along with his daughters Enrica and Elisa, hit it out of the park in both 2019 and 2020. These are some of the most impressive wines I tasted on my fall trip to Piedmont.” -Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media.

Hot Deal  Paolo Scavino Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy 2020 750ml $41.90 special, 18 bottles available
Vinous 91 Points “The 2020 Barolo is seriously beautiful. Pliant and creamy, with terrific depth, the 2020 impresses with its bold, open-knit personality. A burst of dark red cherry/plum fruit, rose petal, mint and spice lend notable character to this decidedly exuberant Barolo from the Scavino family.”

Tan Fruit Sale – Jim Maresh – Oregon Chard – 6-13-24

Tan Fruit

Your Three-Day Discount Starts Now

As the third-generation in his family to make wine, Jim Maresh knows a thing or two about crafting Grand Cru-level Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. From the winery’s prized position in the Dundee Hills, he releases what critics praise as “are some of the most impressive wines I’ve tried anywhere—not just in the US”, per Erin Brooks of the Wine Advocate.

Tan Fruit is Jim’s experimental Chardonnay side project first launched in late 2021. Now, you could assume that the wines are throwaway gags not meant to see the light of day, but leave it to Jim to make his side project a points-sweeping EVENT. Wine Advocate gushed over the first releases from 2019, granting the wines top marks for Oregon whites in the vintage.
