Germany Donnhoff
![]() The Nahe is one of Germany’s most compelling regions despite its small size. Combining the heft of the Rheingau with the elegance and minerality inherent in the Mosel, the region offers something no other can boast: winemakers Helmut and Cornelius Dönnhoff. That’s a lot of faith we place on the shoulders of this family, but anyone who knows the wines knows that it is well deserved. Dönnhoff is one of our favorite German producers, and one we stock by the pallet-load. And we’re not the only ones obsessed. So often, folks tell us that a bottle of the humble yet delicious Estate Trocken or the fiercely mineral and refined Oberhauser Brucke Spätlese was THE Riesling that sparked their passion for German terroir. |

Bürklin-Wolf
It’s an open secret that dry German Riesling is one of the most complex white wines in the world, yet is also one of the most undervalued. There exist today some historic and well-respected producers that can turn heads and hearts without turning your wallet inside-out. One such estate is the innovative Dr. Bürklin-Wolf.
The estate of Dr. Bürklin-Wolf is a fixture in the Pfalz. Its quality and prestige have been lauded for centuries. Helmed since 1990 by Bettina Bürklin-von Guradze, she has only improved an already incredible winery.

For over thirty years, the Dal Forno family has been crafting deeply concentrated expressions of Valpolicella and Amarone. Their name practically defines the style of wines from this northeastern portion of the Veneto.
Established in 1983 by Romano Dal Forno, the estate vaulted to the heights of perfection in the Venato. The family employs traditional winemaking techniques, such as extended drying of the grapes before pressing, to craft their serious and seriously concentrated wines.
Vines hail from the foothills at around 1,000 feet above sea level. Here, the family’s 65 acres are planted to indigenous varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, grown and pruned according to ancient traditions.

Of all the major old world giants, Spain has perhaps the fewest number of wines with a rarified cult status. While prices continue to rise for top Rioja, Priorat, Ribeira Sacra, and Ribera del Duero, those wines are still widely available and produced in quantities that limit the fear of missing a new release. Dominio de Pingus is one of few expections to this rule.
Along with Vega Sicilia, Pingus is a Ribera del Duero producer that shakes global palates when reaches shelves, wine lists, and investment markets.

Just as Burgundy inspired Oregon winemakers to plant and craft Pinot Noir, so, too, did it encourage the planting and crafting of its noble white grape: Chardonnay. Burgundy may offer the pinnacle of Chardonnay, but Oregon’s wineries offer it an illustrious yet more affordable home. Here, we find a wide diversity of styles, from unoaked and neutral-barrel expressions, to mineral-laden and reductive, to opulent, oak- or fruit-forward cuvees, and every combination in between. Though their prices have yet to reach Burgundian, the quality is enough to make several top domaines buy up their own corner of our state.
We offer a wide variety of in-stock picks, including from some of our favorite producers, such as Tan Fruit, Cameron, Goodfellow, and Sequitur.
