Vouette Et Sorbee Fidele Extra Brut (2020) NV 750ml $79 special, 16 bottles available
No reviews for the 2020 base. 2018 base review provided for reference.
Wine Advocate 94 Points “The NV Brut Nature Fidèle (R14) is a Blanc de Noirs from Pinot Noir on Kimmeridgian soils and is entirely based on the 2014 vintage. Disgorged in October 2017 the oak-fermented wine shows a golden-reddish apricot color and opens with a very delicate, floral and herbal yet intense and vinous bouquet of red fruits, with warm, dry earth and spices and just a hint of oak.

Standish Wine Company

It all began in 1999 when Dan and Nicole Standish acquired a block of 96-year-old-old Shiraz in the Vine Vale region of the Barossa Valley and “The Standish,” an Aussie cult wine was born. A third generation winemaker, Dan has embraced low intervention wine-making and natural fermentations paired with basket-pressed grapes to create an old-fashioned wine with a style that is still impeccably modern.

Standish ‘The Standish’ Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2018 750ml $149 special, 6 bottles available
Wine Advocate 98-100 Points “The 2018 The Standish Shiraz (a sample blend from barrel) is a bit stalky (it’s about 50% whole cluster), but it’s gorgeously perfumed, with hints of herbal tea, raspberries, blackberries and licorice.

Special Feature: Dubois and the Heights of Gamay: October 2023

This is the shop’s absolute favorite Beaujolais producer. Hard stop. A few years ago Dubois’s  wines completely changed our perspective on the trajectory that the region was headed in and the nuance that could be expressed through gamay. Wine nerds en masse have been heralding the ‘Burgundian’ advance of Beujolais for a while now, and this has been spurred on by the upward spiral of prices for pinot noir coming out of the Cote d’Or. However, gamay actually achieving the heights of pinot noir in the glass has been few and far between, with only the best winemakers coming close. The gang of 4 producers (Lapierre, Foillard, Thevenet, Breton) influenced by Jules Chauvet have garnered most of the attention in recent times, and have reinforced the ‘natural’ mantra of most new age producers.

The most remarkable thing for me about 2021 was the incredible perfume and aromas of every fermenting wine, regardless of whether they were white, red, or pink. Stunning across the board. My winery was not alone in this. It seemed to happen with my colleagues, too. The wines are so delicious […] 2022 is a year that I have been the happiest about my whites to date and I love the balance and beauty of the Pinots.

Envinate (“Wine Yourself”)
Envínate is a small group of winemaking friends (Alfonso Torrente, José Ángel Martínez, Laura Ramos, and Roberto Santana) that seek to highlight the individual terroirs of the Canary Islands and Ribeira Sacra. The friends produce wines of purity with low-intervention winemaking and vineyard management using ancient vineyards.  The wines are highly sought after as authentic expressions of their terroirs and forerunners of the “New Spanish” wine movement.
