Decanter 93 Points “This village Volnay is produced from the younger vines in Lafon’s superb, 4ha holding in Santenots-du-Milieu. The bunches are destemmed and macerated, prior to being fermented with as many whole berries as possible in stainless and aged for two winters in cask, one-third new.
Decugnano dei Barbi: October 2023
Decugnano dei Barbi

Of course with a standalone email offer like this, you’d expect the wines to run in the triple digits (and given the quality in the glass, you’d certainly be justified!) Fortunately for you, these are far, far below that, with prices ranging in the teens and low twenties.
Were these Tuscan or even French, we’d expect them to go for double easily. Tasting them, you know that these might just be the best value in Italian wine you’ll find in our shop.

Special Feature: La La Land of Brunello: October 2023

Do you drink Brunello?
You should.
If you haven’t noticed, Italy is consistently producing some of the best vintages and wines the market has ever witnessed in recent years. The trend extends across the entire country, from the racy and mineral driven reds and whites of volcanic Sicily to the perfumed and haunting wines of Piedmont. The entire nation has fully emerged from the slumber of rustic winemaking methods and now the pursuit of excellence is all-encompassing.
Perhaps no single region has felt this rebirth as much as Brunello di Montalcino. Back in the late 20th century there were only a handful of producers that were catching global attention and occupying spots on some of the finest wine lists in the world.
