“Casanova di Neri”

The Neri family has two new wines to present. The biggest news is the introduction of the top-shelf Brunello Di Montalcino Giovanni Neri. The wine—and the vineyard site—is named after Giacomo Neri’s dad, and fruit comes from a seven-hectare vineyard that was planted in 1973 by a farmer named “Tocci.” After many, many failed attempts, the Neri family was finally able to buy this gem in 2017, despite claims by the old farmer that “he would never sell.” Thankfully, he changed his mind.

The second wine is the Rosso di Montalcino Giovanni Neri, in production now for four years.

Casanova Di Neri Brunello Giovanni Neri 2018 750ml $269 special, 9 bottles available Pre-Arrival ETA May 26
Wine Advocate 96 Points “Here’s an exciting and important new addition to the Casanova di Neri portfolio. The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Giovanni Neri is shapely and enriched in an extremely pleasing manner. The Neri family has perfected its approach to concentration and fruit weight over the many years they have been making excellent wines. This wine gives the appearance of being full-bodied, but ultimately, it reveals a very elegant side. Ripe cherry and blackberry cede to oak spice, toast and crushed white stone. The tannins are softly pliable and sweet. Compared to the estate’s other wines, Tenuta Nuova and Cerretalto, Giovanni Neri is finer and more delicate, even fragile in personality. Some 5,400 bottles were made in this inaugural release.”
Lowest Price in the USA

Casanova Di Neri Brunello Di Montalcino 2018 750ml $61.90 special, 24 bottles available Pre-Arrival ETA May 26
Wine Advocate 93 Points “With a special commemorative label that celebrates its 40th birthday (1978–2018), the Casanova di Neri 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is lush and carefully concentrated to offer intensity and textural richness. The bright fruit remains intact in this wine, with plenty of cherry and blackberry, in an encouraging nod to the future cellar potential of this bottle. Many Brunellos from this vintage reveal faded or dried fruit, but thankfully not this wine.

Casanova Neri Brunello Tenuta Nuova 2018 750ml $119 special, 12 bottles available Pre-Arrival ETA May 26
Jeb Dunnuck 96+ Points “There is more depth to the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova, with light smoky earth, black cherry, licorice, and black pepper. It is polished with fresh crunchy fruit yet retains a good amount of concentration, with notes of black raspberry, turned fresh soil, and graphite. Mouthwatering, with salinity, fresh acidity, and great length, it has fine tannins and warming spice on the finish. Drink 2024-2044.”
James Suckling 96 Points “Elegant and perfumed nose of dried roses, violets, lemon zest, slate, cherries, aniseed and truffles. Very fine, tight and precise tannins. Medium to full body. I like the floral and saline undertones. So precise and fresh with a tight finish. Crushed stones at the end. Try in 2025, but already attractive to taste and drink.”

Casanova In Stock Now:

Casanova Neri Rosso Montalcino Giovanni Neri 2019 $49 special, 21 bottles available
Winery Note “Giovanni Neri is the new wine of Casanova di Neri, dedicated to the founder in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the estate. A unique wine that respects the philosophy and the style of Casanova di Neri, that are still the same as fifty years ago. Giovanni neri is the expression of a Sangiovese that comes from a vineyard that has a wonderful exposition, exceptional soil and vines forty five years old.”
Wine Advocate 93 Points “The 2019 Rosso di Montalcino Giovanni Neri reaches Brunello-esque intensity and complexity. This vintage produced concentrated fruit, and you definitely feel the extra fruit weight on the palate. (I can’t wait to taste the 2019 Brunellos, by the way.) The wine is very generous at this moment in time with rich, dark fruit, soft tannins and lingering mineral notes.”

Casanova Di Neri Brunello Di Montalcino 2017 750ml $69 special, 18 bottles available
Wine Advocate 94+ Points “The Casanova di Neri 2017 Brunello di Montalcino delivers unexpected grace and a floral profile that is not common to find in this scorching-hot and dry vintage. In faithful Casanova di Neri fashion, the wine is bold and dark in appearance, and although the bouquet is dominated by purple and black fruits, there is a brief interlude of fresh garden rose or lilac. That little moment changes up the momentum of this wine in a most positive way by allowing for a harmony of low tones and high tones that are well matched here. The wine is robust, structured and velvety to the palate, but ultimately this expression is far more delicate than I would have ever expected for a 2017 Brunello. This is a nice surprise.”

Casanova Neri Brunello Tenuta Nuova 2017 750ml $99 special, 24 bottles available
Wine advocate 96 points “This is one of my all-time favorite Brunellos, and although personal tastes are fluid and may change from time to time, there is something timeless and solid about this wine. It’s like a touchstone. The Casanova di Neri 2017 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is graced with a similar interlude of elegant rose or crushed flower that we saw in the annata wine. It appears more prominently here, and with more shape and focused intensity. Make no mistake, Giacomo Neri builds wines for pleasure and sensual impact, and this wine (helped by a hot growing season and 15% alcohol) ticks all those boxes. But it also shows floral elegance and sour cherry freshness that defies our expectations of the vintage.”

Casanova Di Neri Brunello Cerretalto 2012 750ml $379 special, 11 bottles available
Wine Spectator 98 Points “Flavors of medicinal herbs, juniper, macerated cherry, plum, tobacco and spice are the hallmarks of this intense red, which is ripe and concentrated, yet sleek and focused. Spice notes chime in on the long, minerally and firmly tannic finish. Best from 2023 through 2040.”

Casanova Di Neri Brunello Cerretalto 2016 750ml $399 special, 10 bottles available
James Suckling 100 Points “Wow. Incredible purity and transparency with cherries, bark, mushroom, flower and slate/stone on the nose. Full-bodied yet agile and fresh with a fine tannin structure that runs the length of the wine and goes on forever. The polish, elegance and grace is breathtaking. Power with agility. A revelation for the 2016 vintage in Brunello. Drink in 2024 and onwards but wonderful to taste now.”

“Domaine Tempier”
One of the most coveted and storied producers in all of France is soon to reach our shelves! If you haven’t experienced Domain Tempier before then this is your chance round out a benchmark piece of your wine education, and if you have experienced it…..it’s time to stock up!

Domain Tempier Bandol Blanc 2021 750ml $49 special, 22 bottles available
Wine Advocate 92-94 points “Primarily Clairette (60%) and Ugni Blanc (30%), with bits of Bourboulenc, Marsanne and Rolle, the 2021 Bandol Blanc was still in tank when I visited early last year. It presents a striking juxtaposition of ripe pears and honeyed richness with brighter notes of fresh lime juice on the nose and medium-bodied palate, finishing with a sense of plush richness balanced by mouthwatering citrus zest and brine.”

Domain Tempier Bandol Rouge 2020 750ml $56 special, 19 bottles available
Wine Advocate 91-93 points “Tasted from foudre, the 2020 Bandol Cuvee Classique had been blended the week before my visit. Already showing classic notes of tree bark and truffle layered against cherries and raspberries and a touch of olive, it looks relatively precocious. In the mouth, it’s medium to full-bodied, concentrated and rich, with a long, plush finish.”

Domain Tempier Bandol La Migoua 2020 750ml $81.80 special, 20 bottles available
Wine Advocate 92-94 points “The 2020 Bandol la Migoua—tasted from foudre—is a bit tarry and rubbery (expected, to some degree, in young Mourvèdre-based wines) but opens up to reveal seductive, ripe notes of blackberries and mulberries. A blend of approximately 55% Mourvèdre, 25% Cinsault, 15% Grenache and 5% Syrah, it’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, concentrated but silky in feel and elegant on the long finish.”

Domain Tempier Bandol La Tourtine 2020 750ml $89 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine Advocate 94-96 points
“Mainly Mourvèdre (85%), with Cinsault and Grenache, the 2020 Bandol la Tourtine was still in foudre at the time of my visit last year. Scents of cola, smoke and red berries provide ample complexity on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is concentrated and almost creamy in texture while remaining fresh and dynamic on the lengthy finish.”

Don’t Miss Out On These 2021 Arterberry Maresh and Tan Fruit Wines

“The wines are concentrated yet elegant, fruity yet flinty and are some of the most impressive wines I’ve tried anywhere—not just in the US.”

-Erin Brooks, “USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley: The Magic of Arterberry Maresh”
The Wine Advocate May 18th, 2023

The critics are officially in love with these wines, further cementing the Maresh family as leaders in the Oregon wine industry. You almost certainly know the Maresh family for the stunning wines from the stunning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay they produce under their Arterberry Maresh label and if you’re lucky you’ve already tried Jim Maresh’s new cult project Tan Fruit which is being described as producing some of the finest chardonnays anywhere in the world.

While Jim likes to say he started Tan Fruit to “experiment and play around with technique,” he maintains a very minimalist approach. He prefers picking the grapes early (“al dente” he calls it), aging in a combination of steel and oak, and to ferment bone dry. As he says in his most recent Wine Advocate profile, his philosophy in the winery is “Just get the Hell out of the way.”

Sourcing from vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley, these represent dry-farmed artistry at its finest. These Chardonnays exhibit a complete and unique showing of Oregon’s terroir. Regardless of vineyard location, vine age and elevation these are both delightfully accessible now and will only get better with age.

These wines are moving fast! If you’re not sold yet, check out these stunning reviews from The Wine Advocate for Jim’s wines:

“Arterberry Maresh”
Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Dundee Hills 2021 750ml $33 special, 18 bottles
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2021 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills offers quality that sits well above its modest price tag with its pairing of concentrated flavors and a weightless frame. Medium ruby, it features cranberry sauce, pomegranate and rhubarb fruit with accents of tea leaves, lavender, bitter orange and amaro. The light-bodied palate is silky and seamless with an incredible core of flavor and a very long, bitters-laced finish. I would be excited to drink this wine any night of the week!”

Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Old Vines 2021 750ml $56.50 special, 6 bottles available now
Wine Advocate 98 Points “The 2021 Pinot Noir Old Vines comes from the Maresh Vineyard, from vines that were planted in 1970, and has a singular expression with detailed, spicy accents reminiscent of bitters or amaro. “You only get those high-toned essences if you pick al dente,” winemaker Jim Maresh explains. “It’s easy to volatilize all that away.” The Old Vines has a medium ruby color and arresting aromas of orange bitters, mossy bark and tobacco leaves complementing a deep core of pomegranate, rhubarb and cranberry. The light-bodied palate offers remarkably pure, detailed flavors. It has velvety tannins, seamless freshness and a very long finish with a flourish of spicy accents.”

Arterberry Maresh Chardonnay Maresh Vineyard 2021 750ml $72 special, 36 bottles available now
Wine Advocate 96 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Maresh Vineyard comes from Wente vines planted in 1983 and was matured in 20% Damy barrels for nine months before finishing in stainless steel. The nose is alluringly spicy, opening from flint and roasted almonds to an intense core of savory yellow peach and beeswax. The palate is satiny and unctuous with ripe fruit, floral perfume and flinty streaks. Despite its luxurious texture and flavor, it maintains its shimmery acidity and boasts a long, dynamic finish. It’s a special expression that offers pleasurable generosity and precision.”

Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard 2021 750ml $72 special, 28 bottles available now
Wine Advocate 98+ Points “The 2021 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard is an arresting wine that grows in bottle over several days, offering singular expression, purity and a touch of magic. Medium ruby, the nose is very complex and offers something new with each return to the glass. A deep core of pomegranate and cranberry sauce blossoms to orange peel, tea leaves, mossy bark and lilac with an array of amaro-like undertones. The palate is medium-bodied and has tremendously concentrated flavors for its harmonious, velvety frame (this sits at only 12.8% alcohol). Layered, dynamic and very long, it stands out as one of the best expressions of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting.”

Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Weber Vineyard 2021 750ml $72 special, 25 bottles available now
Wine Advocate 97+ Points “Out of curiosity, winemaker Jim Maresh and I re-tasted the 2019 Pinot Noir Weber Vineyard to compare to the recently bottled 2021s. (Weber Vineyard was previously owned by Jim’s grandfather and part of the Maresh Vineyard.) It’s beginning to curl inward, taking plenty of time to blossom from touches of iodine and flint to wild blackberries, tea leaves, lavender, salted licorice and candied orange peel. The medium-bodied palate is powerful and refreshing, with youthfully latent fruit and a long, spicy finish. Purchasers can look forward to an exciting evolution as this matures over the next 10-15 years.”

“Tan Fruit”
Tan Fruit Cuvee Tan Fruit Chardonnay 2021 750ml $39 special, 36+ bottles available now
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Cuvée Tan Fruit comes from Dijon vines in the Maresh Vineyard, planted on a south-facing slope in 1991, plus a number of other sources around Willamette Valley. Bottled a few months earlier than the other Tan Fruit Chardonnays, its savory aromas explode from the glass: a core of peachy fruit is streaked with touches of candle smoke, matchstick, pie crust and floral tones. Medium-bodied, seamless and satiny, it flows effortlessly through the mouth with both depth of flavor and freshness. It has a pleasing touch of grip to anchor the long finish and feels like it has more to give as it unwinds in bottle over the next several years. Around 1,000 cases were made.”

Tan Fruit Maresh Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 750ml $59 special, 36+ bottles available now
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Maresh Vineyard has pure aromas of red apples, pie crust, almonds and jasmine blossoms with top notes of salty lemon. The medium-bodied palate is generous yet balanced, with a concentrated core of savory fruit tempered by streaks of matchstick and spice. It has seamless, energetic acidity and a long, nuanced finish and will benefit from 3-5 more years in bottle.”

Tan Fruit Oak Grove Chardonnay 2021 750ml $59 special, 36+ bottles available now
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Oak Grove Vineyard, from vines situated on sedimentary soil, is energetic and mineral-driven this vintage. Barrel fermented and finished in stainless steel, it opens with streaks of matchstick that give way to a core of red apples, yogurt, pie spice and lemon peel. The light-bodied palate has a silky texture and is buzzing with bright acidity and flinty nuance. It has a concentrated core of ripe citrus and a very long, mineral-driven finish. The Oak Grove’s salty, tangy character, reminiscent of Chablis, makes it impossible to put down!”

Tan Fruit Sophie’s Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 750ml $59 special, 36+ bottles available now
Wine Advocate 93 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Sophie’s Vineyard comes from an isolated vineyard near the town of Yoncalla in the Umpqua Valley, planted in the late 1970s with Draper and Wente selections. Matured in oak and finished with four months in stainless steel, it has fresh scents of green pear, quince and citrus blossom with undertones of almonds, flint and honey. The light-bodied palate is creamy and plush with gently nutty fruits and a long, refreshing finish.”

Tan Fruit Tank Fruit Chardonnay 2021 750ml $59 special, 36+ bottles available now
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Tank Fruit is composed of fruit from the White Walnut Vineyard, a relatively new vineyard comprising eight acres planted around 2015 in the Dundee Hills. “The genetics that produced this is rare,” winemaker Jim Maresh explains, noting that the diverse clonal material in this vineyard includes 10 different heritage selections. The White Walnut Vineyard cuvée was fermented in oak and finished in stainless steel—the opposite of this 2021 Chardonnay Tank Fruit, which also comes from the White Walnut Vineyard but is fermented in stainless steel and finished in oak—although both wines offer singular exoticism. The Tank Fruit is bursting with intense aromas of peaches, fruit cocktail, lemongrass and orange oil with streaks of spice and herbs. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and seamless, gaining amplitude in the mouth as it releases wave after wave of concentrated fruit. It has a soft frame of flinty accents, and its fresh acidity calls you in for another sip on the long finish.”

Tan Fruit Fairview Chardonnay 2021 750ml $66 special, 19 bottles available now
Wine Advocate 95 Points” The 2021 Chardonnay Fairview Vineyard is scented of red apples and quince with nuances of mushroom, matchstick, hay and acacia flowers. The light-bodied palate is energetic and focused with a youthfully coiled core of savory fruit and a long, mineral-driven finish. Offer it 3-5 years or more in bottle to unwind.”

Tan Fruit White Walnut Chardonnay 2021 750ml $69 special, 36+ bottles available now
Wine Advocate 99 Points “White Walnut is a relatively new vineyard comprising eight acres planted around 2015 in the Dundee Hills. “The genetics that produced this is rare,” winemaker Jim Maresh explains, noting that the diverse clonal material in this vineyard includes 10 different heritage selections. The 2021 Chardonnay White Walnut Vineyard was fermented in oak and finished in stainless steel—the opposite of the Tank Fruit cuvée, which is also made from White Walnut fruit but fermented in stainless steel and finished in oak. Exoticism is the word I come back to again and again with this wine, which is extraordinarily expressive, singular and completely addicting. It offers very pure aromas of lemon meringue, candied peach, crème brûlée and candle smoke, with intense, honeyed undertones. The palate is satiny and sensuous, like a spatula smoothing the frosting on a cake. It has a concentrated, peachy core framed by streaks of flint, and its focused acidity drives all that exotic flavor into a hauntingly long finish. I’ve never tasted another Chardonnay quite like this!”

This domaine, run by two brothers, has tapped into the future by looking to the regions past.

The cultivation of wine dates back to Roman times in the Merkelbach’s vineyards just off the Mosel between Ürzig and Erden. When most of the Ürziger Würzgarten vineyards were replanted during the re-alignment of the vineyards, Merkelbach’s vines remained on original rootstock, with an average vine age of 45 years. The Merkelbach brothers are firm believers in tradition, and while changes in climate and style preferences have pushed up must weights and produced profoundly riper wines, the brothers craft wines of a style more typical to an era long forgotten. The Kabinett are still refreshing, Spätlesen taste like Spätlesen, and sugar levels rarely exceed the Pradikät range.

The Merkelbachs vinify each parcel separately, each fuder representing a different parcel. Because of their tiny cellar, their pradikät wines will never be a blend of any more than 2 parcels together, indicated by the fuder numbers on the label’s AP code.

Merkelbach Urziger Wurzgarten Kabinett #13 2018 750ml $28 special, 36+ bottles available
Mosel Fine Wines
“The 2018er Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Kabinett was harvested from old un-grafted vines at 90° Oechsle in the part of the vineyard situated above the cellar of the Merkelbachs, just behind the village, and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (50 g/l). It offers a hugely aromatic nose of white peach, apricot, floral elements and spices. The wine is beautifully balanced on the palate and leaves a long and refined feel of herbs in the finish. 2028-2048.”

Saint Cosme Gigondas Le Claux 2017 750ml $99 special, 6 bottles available
Vinous 96 points “Brilliant violet. Highly perfumed black raspberry and cherry liqueur aromas are accompanied by potpourri, mocha, vanilla and baking spice nuances, along with a smoky mineral flourish that builds in the glass. Juicy and appealingly sweet, displaying palate-staining red and blue fruit, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that show superb depth and a smooth, seamless texture. Deftly balances richness and vivacity and finishes extremely long and spicy, with smooth, harmonious tannins and a subtle echo of candied flowers and kirsch.”

Saint Cosme Gigondas Hominis Fides 2020 750ml $128 special, 16 bottles available
Jeb Dunnuck 97-100 points “At the moment, the 2020 Gigondas Hominis Fides looks to be the standout of the three single vineyards, although all three are beautiful wines in the making. It certainly offers the most power and concentration, with lots of ground pepper, Provençal garrigue, violets, and loamy soils notes, as well as a darker cassis and berry-driven core of fruit. It builds beautifully on the palate, with ample structure, incredible balance, and a great, great finish.”

Delas Hermitage Les Bessards 2019 750ml $219 special, 36+ bottles available
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points “My favorite release from this estate is consistently their Les Bessards Hermitage, and their 2019 is no exception. Coming from the western part and pure broken granite soils on the west side of this magical hill, it sports a dense purple hue to go with a brilliant perfume of cassis, graphite, scorched earth, burning embers, spring flowers, and peppery herbs. Incredibly complex, layered, and nuanced, with classic Hermitage characteristics”

“Beaux Freres”
Beaux Freres Les Cousins Pinot Noir 2021 750ml $36 special, 8 bottles available
James Suckling 95 Points
“A perfumed nose of cherry, wild strawberry, forest floor, dried flower, smoke and spice box. It’s medium-bodied with fine, creamy tannins and lively acidity. Round and balanced with a velvety texture. Layered with a long, savory finish. Unfiltered. Drink or hold.”

Beaux Freres Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021 $69 special, 9 bottles available
Winery note “Our Willamette Valley cuvée features fruit grown on select vineyard sites in the Northern Willamette Valley. The wines benefit from the same integrity in the winemaking process as our estate wines.  The sites are farmed sustainably and managed to very low yields.  We age the wines in the same French oak barrels used in our estate bottling, however the percentage of new oak is intentionally lower.  This wine is not fined or filtered.”

Beaux Freres The Beaux Freres Vyd Pinot Noir 2021 $109 special, 2 bottles available
Winery notes
“When the first few blocks were planted in 1988, no one could have predicted the consistent magic that would spring forth for decades to come. The old 1940s dairy pasture is now fully transformed to 25 acres of Pinot Noir vines whose forest perimeter creates a nearly mystical landscape. The 2021 wine is full of classic features: ripe, dark cherry skins, orange zest, and subtle white flower and miso notes.”

“Crowley Vineyards”

Crowley Willamette Valley Chardonnay 2020 750ml $24 special, 31 bottles available
Winery note
“Lemon-lime aromatics burst from the glass, laced with a touch of floral wood. Quenching salinity on the palate stretches long, eventually giving way to chalk and balanced acidity. Vineyard info: Four Winds was planted in 1993 to Wente clone Chardonnay (1.5 acres) and Dijon clone Chardonnay (.75 acres), and beginning in 2017 (2.5 acres) of Draper clone. Elevation is 825 feet and south facing. Own rooted and dry farmed.”

Crowley Entre Nous Pinot Noir 2021 750ml $36 special, 31 bottles available
This wine has an herbaceous and citrusy nose, with traces of cranberry, graphite, allspice and pomegranate. The palate is full of ripe raspberry, plum, and anise framed by striking acidity.  Generous and playful the 2021 Entre Nous embodies our favorite trait for Pinot…accessibility without sacrifice.

Crowley Four Winds Pinot Noir 2021 750ml $49 special, 33 bottles available
Winery Note
“In the glass this wine shines translucent red with amber hued edges. Herbs and dried flowers greet the nose, then give way to black cherry and watermelon. As it opens up, traces of pencil shavings give this wine.

Crowley La Colina Pinot Noir 2021 750ml $49 special, 35 bottles available
Winery Note
“The 2021 La Colina introduces the results of a technique that brings our Pinots ever closer to the refined aim we aspire to…maximum polish with a searing terroir presence. Pumpover cap treatment during fermentation (much like a pour-over coffee experience) delivers delicate but powerful fruit essences.”

Crowley Phoebe Four Winds Chardonnay 2020 750ml $55 Special, 18 Bottles Available
Winery Note “Aromas of Asian pear, lemon chiffon, honeysuckle, mint and a trace of eucalyptus. The palate has the typical Four Winds high tension and firm acidity combined with mineral to complete its austerity. Richness from barrel enters mid palate and merges with silky texture and creamy fruit to a complete high energy finish. Beeswax lingers as does lime-pie. Wente & Draper clones. Native fermentation.”

“The Eyrie”
Eyrie Spark Sparkling Rose Willamette NV 750ml $19 special, 36+ bottles available
Wine Advocate 90 Points “The NV Spark is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 37% Chasselas Doré and 8% Pinot Blanc, from 31-year-old vines. It is an “ultra brut,” although this particular bottling is made using forced carbonation instead of méthode Champenois. Medium to deep cherry-pink in color, it has aromas of cantaloupe, strawberries, raspberries and lemon peel with notes of stone and toast. The palate is dry with citrus and red berry flavors, spritely mousse and a refreshing, mineral-driven finish.”

Eyrie Estate Pinot Gris 2021 750 $24 special, 2 bottles available
Vinopolnote “The original Oregon Pinot Gris… in fact, the original American Pinot Gris. Every bottle is a piece of the Willamette’s proud history.”

Eyrie Pinot Blanc 2021 750ml $31.90 special, 3 bottles available
Winery note “The desire to stay true to place and limit our impact on nature educates Eyrie’s viticulture and winemaking practices. In the winery, we refrain from unnecessarily manipulating the wines during their fermentation and maturation, allowing them to reflect the vintage. When Alsatian clones of Pinot blanc became available in Oregon, a small test plot was planted in Eyrie’s Sisters Vineyard. The block was doubled in the late 1990s. The crop is picked by hand, destemmed, pressed, and run to small stainless steel tanks to ferment and age. We take a slow approach; our Pinot blanc ages 3-4 times longer than most commercial versions before bottling.”

Eyrie Estate Chardonnay 2021 750ml $39 special, 13 bottles available
Wine Advocate  96 Points “The 2021 Chardonnay Estate offers exotic aromas of ripe peaches, honey, pie crust, tangerine oil and musky floral perfume. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with an impressively concentrated core of spicy fruit. Its broad, mouth-coating texture is balanced by fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a long, spicy finish with flavor that goes on and on.”

Eyrie Pinot Noir Sisters Vineyard 2019 750ml $47.50 special, 12 bottles available
Wine Advocate 96 Points “Medium ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Sisters has a delicate perfume of raspberries, rhubarb, tar, orange peel and tea leaves with touches of flint. The light-bodied palate is powdery and fresh with fragrant floral character and a long finish.”

Eyrie Pinot Noir Roland Green Vyd 2019 750ml $61.50 special, 12 bottles available
Wine Advocate 97 Points “Medium ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Roland Green is scented of red cherry and cranberry with savory tones of mushroom, leather, pipe tobacco and licorice. The medium-bodied palate’s concentrated, broody fruit is supported by grainy tannins and seamless acidity, and it finishes long and spicy. Give it another 3-5 years in bottle.”

Eyrie Pinot Noir Daphne 2019 750ml $74.50 special, 6 bottles available
Wine Advocate 97 Points “The 2019 Pinot Noir Daphne is juicy, highly aromatic and irresistible! Medium ruby, it has pure scents of raspberry and strawberry preserves, tangerine peel, Earl Grey tea leaves, star anise and tar. Light-bodied with powdery tannins and fireworks of fresh acidity, it features perfumed, crunchy red fruit and detailed floral and spice accents that fan across the finish.”

“Goodfellow”
Goodfellow Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2020 750ml $26 special, 7 bottles available
Winery Note “

Goodfellow Pinot Blanc Franc De Pied WV 2021 750ml $28 special, 5 bottles available
Vinopolnote “Crisp and savory. From volcanic soil.”

Goodfellow Pinot Gris Lewman Vyd 2019 750ml $27 special, 8 bottles available
Winery Note “
Brilliant copper in color, fermented entirely on the skins, this is savory and structured more like a light red wine than a it’s color seems to suggest. Floral and bright with rhubarb, wild red huckleberry and lime skin. This is a great food wine, and a rare pair with sushi. Serve cellar temperature rather than chilled.”

Goodfellow Pinot Gris Whistling Ridge VYD 2021 750ml $31.90 special, 3 bottles available
Winery Note
“Whistling Ridge Vineyard sits ridge-top in the western edge of the Ribbon Ridge AVA. Thee vines catch the daily winds that blow in, slowing ripening, evaporating moisture, and cooling fruit. Shallow soils are eroded from uplifted marine sedimentary rock, 40 to 50 million years old, and dry out quickly in the growing season. No-till farming forces the non-irrigated vines to grow roots deep in search of water.”

“Sequitur”
Sequitur Chardonnay 2016 750ml $59 special, 9 bottles available
Vinous 94 Points
“Pale yellow-gold. Fresh and incisive on the nose, displaying intense citrus and orchard fruit scents complemented by suggestions of toasty lees, iodine and sweet butter. Sappy, penetrating and seamless in texture, offering concentrated pear nectar, peach, tangerine and honeysuckle flavors that deepen slowly on the back half while maintaining energy. Finishes with repeating pear and floral notes, with a late jolt of dusty minerality pulling things together.”

Sequitur Chardonnay 2018 750ml $66 special, 9 bottles available
Vinous 95 Points
“Glistening straw-yellow. Vibrant, mineral-accented aromas of white peach, Anjou pear, melon and Meyer lemon carry a bright floral overtone. Juicy and densely packed, displaying a suave blend of richness and vivacity to the mineral-drenched citrus and orchard fruit and floral flavors. Picks up smoky lees, honey and iodine notes with air and shows outstanding clarity on a strikingly long, penetrating finish that echoes the mineral and citrus fruit notes.”

Sequitur Pinot Noir 2018 750ml $79 special, 5 bottles available
Vinous 95 Points “Bright ruby-red. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, cherry pie, potpourri and exotic spices, all sharpened by a smoky mineral overtone. Deeply concentrated and energetic in the mouth, offering sappy, mineral- and spice-drenched black raspberry, cherry cola and rose pastille flavors that spread out steadily on the back half. Shows fine definition and finishes extremely long and sappy, with polished tannins and lingering floral and blue fruit liqueur notes. 25% new oak.”

Sequitur Pinot Noir 2019 750ml $79 special, 10 bottles available
Wine Advocate 96 Points
“Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Sequitor Pinot Noir has alluring scents of dark red cherries, wild blackberries, aniseed and tobacco leaves, with wafts of sweet balsamic and dried violets. The palate is silky and fresh, with deep, earth-laced fruits hinting at more to come with additional bottle time. It’s juicy and inviting now but deserves another 2-3 years in bottle.”
Winery note “This year marked the 50th anniversary of the iconic music festival. As a tribute to the festival’s message of harmony, cooperation and hope—and as a nod to the persistent rains that helped define both this year’s harvest and the 1969 festival—we bring you Woodstock, Sequitur’s melodic, inspiring 2019 vintage.”

Silky, sweet and focused on the palate, offering vibrant black raspberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors complemented by a hint of spicecake. In a seamless, graceful style, showing impressive clarity and smooth, rounded tannins on the strikingly long, floral-tinged finish. Fermented and aged in clay amphoras for 10 months.”
