New Arrivals: Here’s What’s Hot

Oregon

Cameron Winery ‘Ribbon Ridge’ Pinot Noir, Oregon 2015 750ML ($24.95) $21.90 special
Winery Notes: Ribbon Ridge Pinot noir.  Fruit for this wine is sourced from 2 vineyards in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, Foster Farms and Armstrong.  Foster Farms was planted in 2006 and is lovingly tended by famed cider apple grower Alan Foster.  Armstrong vineyard was recently converted to dry-farmed grapes.  Fruit from Ribbon Ridge is always intense with loads of structure in the wine.

Champagne

Ulysse Collin ‘Les Maillons’ Rose de Saignee Extra Brut, Champagne NV (2013) 750ML ($119.95) $99 special
VinopolNote: A cult rosé Champagne like no other – richly vinous and textural in expression. Tiny release! Olivier Collin spent his life working to free his family vines from a strict lease – even studying law with the intent to reclaim the vineyards. When he accomplished this goal in 2003, he quickly became a rising, if divisive, star in Champagne. His wines are profoundly introspective and challenge preconceived notions about what Champagne should be. At the forefront of the new wave of ultra-terroir-driven Champagnes, Olivier produces deeply vinous, mineral and near-tannic wines. True to their terroir, these are reflections of the individual parcels and a tribute to a decades-long struggle to reclaim the land.
Burgundy

Vincent Dauvissat Chablis, Burgundy 2013 750ML ($79.95) $69 special
Burghound 90 points “There is a bit more Chablis character present on the nose that is comprised primarily of green fruit with top notes of sea breeze, apple and white flowers where there is also a background hint of exotic fruit components. There is good concentration to the utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that display a fine bead of minerality on the markedly saline-inflected finish. This isn’t a classic Chablis but it’s really very good as well.”
“Lemon oil, white flowers and orchard fruit are laced together in Dauvissat’s 2013 Chablis. There is plenty of nuance in the glass, but I also can’t help noting how open the Chablis is at this very early stage. The 2013 finishes with notable freshness and vibrancy. Today my sense is that the 2013 will be a very pretty early drinker, but then again, the wines here have a proven track record of aging exceptionally well.” –Antonio Galloni
Rhone

Chateau de Montfaucon Lirac Blanc Comtesse Madeleine, Rhone 2015 750ML ($19.95) $16 special
Wine Advocate 90 points “I loved both of the whites from this terrific estate, and their 2015 Lirac Comtesse Madeleine Blanc (50% Marsanne, 20% Grenache Blanc and the rest Clairette and Picpoul) is a salty, medium-bodied, nicely concentrated white that makes you salivate. Pineapple, apple blossom, brioche and plenty of minerality emerge from the glass and it will shine on the dinner table over the coming year or two (or more).”
Wine Spectator 90 points “Offers a juicy, plump feel, with melon, green fig and apple notes bouncing off the ginger and heather accents. Macadamia nut notes caress the finish and echo pleasantly.”

This is the only listing in the USA today!

Chateau Montfaucon Chateauneuf Du Pape 2014 750ML ($39.95) $33 special
Wine Spectator 89 points “This has a lovely, silky feel along the edges, while the core of dark plum and boysenberry fruit notes stretches out through the anise- and shiso leaf-tinged finish. Drink now through 2022.”

Beaujolais

Jacky Janodet Domaine les Fines Graves Chenas, Beaujolais 2014 750ML ($19.95) $16 special
Josh Raynolds–Vinous 92 points “Ruby-red. Spice-accented cherry and black raspberry aromas show excellent clarity, and hints of licorice and pungent flowers add complexity. Supple, sweet and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated red and blue fruit and bitter chocolate flavors that show a suave combination of richness and vivacity. Finishes smooth, seamless and very long; a vibrant jolt of juicy acidity lends lift and cut.”

Domaine Jean Foillard Morgon Les Charmes Eponym, Beaujolais 2014 750ML ($39.95) $36 special
Josh Raynolds–Vinous 93 points “Ruby-red. Vibrant black raspberry, cherry and lavender scents, along with suggestions of star anise, smoky minerals and blood orange. Concentrated yet lithe and precise, offering bitter cherry and red and dark berry flavors enlivened by tangy acidity. Silky tannins shape the finish, which lingers with strong, spicy persistence and resonating florality.”

Domaine Jean Foillard Morgon Cuvee Corcelette, Beaujolais 2015 750ML ($39.95) $36 special
James Suckling 93 points “Subtle and earthy with perfumed plum and cherry aromas that follow through to a full body, juicy fruit and a lovely finish. Subtle center palate of fruit here. Beautiful balance. From one of the the light climats in Morgon. Made from organic grapes. Drink now.”

Domaine Jean Foillard Morgon Cote du Py, Beaujolais 2015 750ML ($39.95) $33 special
James Suckling 95 points “Gorgeous aromas of stems and spices with crushed berries and beautiful florals. Coffee beans and charcoal, too. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and lovely caressing fruit. Very long and delicious. Made from organic grapes. Very drinkable now but better in a year or two.”

Domaine Pallieres :

Kermit and the Bruniers at Deep Discount

Both Kermit Lynch and the Brunier Family (Vieux Telegraphe) are legendary names in the French wine trade.  Kermit, obviously, is one of the most influential importers of wine and the Brunier’s make Telegraphe, a wine that help put him on the map. Both went into business together with Domaine Pallieres, in Gigondas and are now making some of the most exciting wines in the appellation.

Gigondas always represents some of the best value in the Southern Rhone, especially when compared to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.  Like its more famous cousin, the Les Pallieres Terrasses du Diable displays all the richness and density you would want, coupled with a savoriness that is unique to Gigondas.  We helped a distributor with an ‘excess inventory’ problem and so are bringing this wine to you today for the lowest price in the country (by a good bit).  This wine is one of those that moves by the case—so don’t delay in getting your order in.

Arriving Friday:

Domaine Les Pallieres Gigondas Terrasses du Diable, Rhone 2013 750ML ($49.95) $33 pre-arrival special
Case-12 Domaine Les Pallieres Gigondas Terrasses du Diable, Rhone 2013 750ML ($539.95) $359 pre-arrival special (that’s only $29.92/bottle!)
Josh Raynolds–Vinous 92 points “Dark ruby. Candied red berries, cherry compote and potpourri on the highly pungent nose; a mineral element adds vivacity. Energetic black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show excellent clarity and a hint of licorice pastille that builds as the wine opens up. The energetic finish repeats the floral and mineral notes, while supple tannins lend shape and grip.”

John Paul’s Friend in Barolo

A little over a decade ago, John Paul decided to host a young Italian man named Lapo Berti as harvest help at Cameron winery.  He worked harvest and became friends with John Paul and left to seek his fortune in the wine world.  The two never lost contact, even as Lapo made his way to Australia and France and then finally back to the Piedmont.  We’re offering both the first Barolo that Lapo Berti made commercially as well as the first “John Paul Selection.” The wine is a classic La Morra Barolo—soft and delicate with a deep resonance that stirs your soul.  It’s a Barolo that you certainly could drink young, but it should age for quite some time if you have the willpower.  Lapo only made a few hundred cases, so quantities are limited, but we secured as large an allocation as we could.  How long it lasts, though, is another matter.

Just Arrived:

Lapo Berti Barolo DOCG La Morra 2012 750ML ($49.95) $39 special,
VinopolNote: “The first ever ‘John Paul Selection’ from our favorite winemaker at Cameron.  This comes from an old friend of his from prime La Morra fruit.  The wine is soft and supple for Barolo, true to the La Morra style, but has depth and complexity.  We’re excited to see how it ages but suspect it will go the distance if you can keep your hands off of it.”

Peyrassol’s Regal Rosé

Peyrasol is rosé royalty.  A rosé first growth.  We could even call them grand cru, but I think you get the idea.  Tempier is generally considered to be the best rosé, but in a lot of vintages, the Chateau bottling from Peyrassol is right up there in quality.  These are some of the finest pink wines to come out of Provence and we haven’t begun to talk about the new “Les Clos” bottling.  This is the first year this has been brought into the US and if the Chateau/Commanderie are anything to go by, it should be one of the two or three best rosés you’ll have the opportunity to drink this year.

Arriving Friday:

Peyrassol Cotes de Provence ‘Le Clos Peyrassol’ Rose, Provence 2016 750ML ($59.95) $41.90 pre-arrival special
Importer Notes “2016 is the first year we are offering this special cuvee. It is made from a single parcel which is equally planted to Cinsault and Tibouren (a touch of Rolle makes it into this cuvee as well). The soil is a mix of clay and limestone with a lot of large rocks on the surface. The site has a bit of depression which helps more even ripening, since the soil holds a little more water than other parcels.  The 2016 is the palest of the three roses, with a very silvery salmon hue.  At the moment of tasting the nose was a tad firm, showing flinty mineral notes. The palate is quite rich and dense with an almost white Burgundy presence. The fruits lean a little sweeter than the other cuvées, with hints of pear and passion fruit. Even so, the wine is completely dry and has a super-long mineral finish. It’s a great rosé that has the potential to age, and we hope some of you keep a few bottles to drink over the next several years.”

Peyrassol Cotes de Provence ‘Chateau Peyrassol’ Rose, Provence 2016 3L ($199.95) $169 pre-arrival special
Importer note “An elite cuvée from the Côtes de Provence appellation known for its brilliance in this category. The Château bottling is more full-bodied, more restrained, quite dignified; an elegant wine that should be married to the finest catches of the sea. Mostly Cinsault, with Grenache, Syrah and a touch of Rolle.”

Peyrassol Cotes de Provence ‘Commanderie de Peyrassol’ Rose, Provence 2016 750ML ($24.95) $19 pre-arrival special
Importer note “Our workhorse rosé. The Commanderie cuvée is always a pale rose color, fresh and lively on the palate, nicely dry with a mineral finish. It is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, with a touch of Ugni Blanc.”

Two Exciting Arrivals from Bordeaux

Chateau du Retout has always been a boundary pushing estate, which is why we love it.  Not content to be a “mere” Haut-Medoc wine, the estate continues to make changes to viticulture and winemaking to ensure the highest possible quality wine.  Part of that has been raising the percentage of Petit Verdot, a grape that excels in the warm vintages that France has had over the last decade.  The resulting wine is everything we could ask of a sub $30 Bordeaux, and the fact that it’s almost half that in price makes it even better.

Chateau du Retout, Haut-Medoc 2014 750ML ($21.95) $17 arriving today special
Wine Spectator 90 points “Delightfully ripe, with an inviting core of plum and blackberry preserves, picking up an anise edge on the finish. A solid alder spine runs throughout, adding length and definition. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot.”
Wine Enthusiast 90 points “With an unusually high proportion (nearly 17%) of Petit Verdot in the blend, this is both darkly structured and dark in color. It is weight, intense youthful acidity and black-currant fruits. It’s also rich, full of tannins and in need of several years.”
James Suckling 90 points “A leafy cabernet nose leads into quite a powerful and tannic palate with the sleek body of a marathon runner. Better in 2018.”

And Our Crowd Pleasing Pomerol, Re-Arriving Today:

Chateau Bel-Air, Pomerol 2010 750ML ($37.95) $29 arriving today special
Case-12 Chateau Bel-Air, Pomerol 2010 750ML ($419.95) $299 arriving today special (that’s only $24.92/bottle!)
Grapelive 92 points “The vintage shows through here without question, a great year makes this lovely Pomerol a terrific value and wonderfully textured wine from Chateau Bel-Air. This dark and full bodied Pomerol hits all the right notes and does so with class, vitality and verve. It shows beautiful detail and complexity in a forceful, but elegantly pure Merlot. This is really seductive stuff in the glass, holding its own against far more expensive labels with ease and poise. The rich layers of fruit, mineral tones and sweet tannin give decadence and refined structure, highlighting Merlot’s promise in a world that sometimes lacks the respect of this often maligned varietal. Chateau Bel-Air has captured in the bottle the right bank’s charm and beauty in this 2010, it shows terroir, with subtle loamy/earth, plummy dense mouth feel and stylish silken length with a wine that has the potential to age another 10 to 15 years, but is pretty darn good right now too. The lead off here is dark floral tones a hint of smoky cedar and black cherry fruit with blackberry, plum, dark kirsch liqueur along with a touch of mint, dried clay, a touch of cigar wrapper and vanilla. This fine Bordeaux delivers well beyond its price and is wonderful with food choices that range from duck breast, lamb, roast pork, wild mushroom dishes to prime rib, and or any comforting winter fare really, and it can also be enjoyed with cheeses or on its own. This is the kind of wine that brings you back to Bordeaux, and certainly makes you wonder why you don’t drink more Merlot. Drink this Chateau Bel-Air Pomerol from 2016 to 2028.”

Stellar Spanish Values

from Jorge Ordonez in Galacia

Jorge Ordonez is one of the biggest players in the Spanish wine scene.  If you’ve had wines like Triton, El Nido, Tarima Hill, Volver, or Alto Moncayo, you’ve tasted Jorge’s handiwork as an importer and marketer.  One of his more recent projects involves partnering with Bodegas Godeval to produce a white and a pair of reds that show the “Jorge style” in Galacia.  The reds are made from Mencia (just like the popular Petalos that we’ve been blowing through) and are done in a rich, full bodied style for the grape.  The white, made from Godello, is in the same vein as Albarino and other Galacian whites—pure and fresh with lovely aromatics.  We got them on what is probably a one-time deal, so once they run out, the prices won’t be nearly this good.  Just don’t be mad if you didn’t buy enough.

Arriving Friday:

Bodegas Avancia Cuvee de O, Valdeorras O 2015 750ML ($19.95) $11.90 pre-arrival special
Robert Parker 90 points “The 2015 Avancia Cuvee De O Godello is aged in 500- to 600-liter demi muids and after a portion is fermented in oak (with a small portion fermented in neutral oak and the rest in stainless steel), the wine spends eight months sur lie with 80% aging in stainless steel and the rest in oak. The 2015 is a beauty – with notes of honeysuckle, delicate flowers, crisp, honeyed citrus such as lemons, impressive minerality, a medium body and long finish. It is dry and pure. This is a beauty to drink over the next year or so, although I suspect it may last longer.”

Bodegas Avancia Mencia, Valdeorras 2014 750ML ($41.95) $26 pre-arrival special
Josh Raynolds–Vinous 93 points “(fermented and aged in new French oak for 14 months): Bright purple. High-pitched cherry and blue fruit scents are complemented by a suggestion of candied lavender and accented by white pepper. Silky and sweet on the palate, offering intense boysenberry and cherry-cola flavors and a repeating lavender quality. Blends richness and vivacity with a deft hand and closes subtly tannic, with excellent focus and mineral-driven persistence. These vines were reportedly planted between 1902 and 1920 at an altitude of nearly 1,500 feet.”

Mineral-accented cherry, blackcurrant and licorice scents are complemented by a hint of dark chocolate. Coats the palate with vibrant dark berry and spicecake flavors complemented by candied lavender and licorice. Smoothly melds power and finesse and finishes on a youthfully tannic note, with very good persistence and repeating floral character. Offers serious bang for the buck.”

Newly Arrived Wines from Maximin Grunhaus!

Facing south and overlooking the Ruwer River just before it meets the Mosel, Weingut Maximin Grünhaus has produced extraordinary Rieslings since Medieval times. Roman ruins underlie today’s estate, but it was the Saint Maximin Abbey that made this area famous for wine. The Abtsberg vineyard, known for its concentrated yet supple and perfectly balanced wines, once supplied the Abbott himself, while the equally long-lived Herrenberg vineyard wines satisfied the Abbey’s choirmasters. Weingut Maximin Grünhaus continues the tradition of crafting wines fit for the elite. They farm the vineyards following organic principles, keep yields low, and harvest by hand. Large Fuder casks, made from oaks on the estate, help the wines achieve their greatness. Tasting a Riesling from Weingut Maximin Grünhaus means tasting a lineage of German winemaking history.

The 2015 vintage, needs no introduction, though—at this point every journalist who covers German wine has gone to extreme lengths to remind you of how wonderful the wines are.  These are absolutely some of the best wines that the Grunhaus estate has produced.  They marry the vintages vibrant fruit with the winery’s steely style quite well.

Carl von Schubert Maximin Grunhauser Abtsberg Riesling Spatlese, Mosel 2015 750ML ($37.95) $29 special
Wine Spectator 94 points “Lots of crème brûlée and pastry notes in this languid style, which offers accents of roasted almond and coconut meat. The finish has a pear tart flavor that lingers. Drink now through 2040.”
Mosel Fine Wines 93+ points “Harvested at 93° Oechsle, this offers a rather reduced nose of spices, herbs and cassis. The wine is gorgeously elegant and fresh on the palate and leaves a stunning feel of herbs and zesty citrusy fruits in the long and mouth-watering finish. This is a superb effort with great upside potential. 2025-2045.”

Carl von Schubert Maximin Grunhauser Abtsberg Riesling Auslese #24, Mosel2015 750ML ($99.95) $79 special
Mosel Fine Wines 95 points “This offers gorgeous scents of peach and herbs on the nose. Star anise, ginger and coconut join the flavors on the creamy yet racy palate and leave a superbly racy, cassis and mint-infused feel in the long finish. What a beauty! 2025-2050.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Carl von Schubert Maximin Grunhauser Abtsberg Riesling Kabinett, Mosel 2015 750ML ($31.95) $26 special
Mosel Fine Wines 92 points “Harvested at 86° Oechsle, this offers a rather smooth Spätlese-styled nose of pear, cassis, ginger, star anise, flowers and flinty slate. The wine is on the rich and round side on the palate (by Kabinett standards of this Estate) but already hints at the elegance and finesse to come. This offers a long and beautifully refined nose of herbs and spices. The overall structure is still rather reduced and backward and we expect this beauty to only truly shine at maturity. So patience is required! 2025-2040.”

Monteraponi:

A Name to Watch in Chianti Classico

We’re always up for good, classically made Chianti, so when we first heard of the wines of Monteraponi, we were intrigued.  They’re based in the town of Radda, where Montevertine is located, and these wines are likewise classically made.  No Cabernet, no Merlot, no micro-ox, these wines see long, native fermentations and are minimally processed in the cellar. The resulting wines are the essence of what we want in a wine from Radda (ie: what we love about Montevertine)—bright, cherry fruit with smoke and spice as accent flavors.  The wines are firm in a good way, so you don’t forget that you’re drinking something from Italy, but they’re still delicious enough to give a good decant to and drink young (especially the basic Chianti).

Antonio Galloni is also a fan, saying “Monteraponi is a terrific source for readers who appreciate the more classic side of Chianti Classico. Native fermentations, long macerations and long aging are some of the signatures of these wines, which see minimal handling in the cellar and no fining or filtration. At times the Monteraponi wines can be a bit rustic, but it is a beautiful and sincere approach that most clearly defines these handmade Chianti Classicos.”  We couldn’t agree more and are excited to present these wines to you.

Monteraponi Il Campitello Riserva, Chianti Classico DOCG 2012 750ML ($49.95) $41.90 special, 11 bottles available
Antonio Galloni 92 points “The 2012 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Campitello is a very pretty wine, especially for the vintage. Mid-weight and translucent in style, the 2012 captures the essence of Radda, with sweet, floral aromatics, chiseled fruit and lovely energy. Red berry, spice, tobacco, cedar and rose petal all open up in the glass. A hint of oak comes through on the finish, but otherwise this is a classic-feeling Riserva that will appeal to readers with more traditionally leaning palates. The Campitello emerges from the estate’s oldest vineyard.”

Monteraponi Il Campitello Riserva, Chianti Classico DOCG 2013 750ML ($49.95) $41.90 special, 11 bottles available
Antonio Galloni 92 points “The 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Campitello is a very beautiful and expressive wine that will appeal to readers who appreciate the more traditional side of Chianti Classico. Sweet tobacco, sage, mint, dried cherry and crushed leaves give the 2013 its lifted aromatics while bright Sangiovese acidity adds the vibrancy. Aging in cask produces a style of Chianti Classico that emphasizes aromatics and savoriness, while fruit is more in the background. There is a purity and frankness to the Campitello that I find hugely appealing.”

Monteraponi Chianti Classico DOCG, Tuscany 2014 750ML ($27.95) $21.90 special, 19 bottles available
“Fermented without selected yeasts or temperature control, this bright, savory blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo opens with classic varietal aromas of red berry, fragrant blue flower and a whiff of new leather. The fresh, easy drinking palate doles out juicy wild cherry, chopped herb and a hint cinnamon offset by vibrant acidity and supple tannins.”–Wine Enthusiast

The Diel Goes Down

It goes to show, you don’t ever know–Diel is one of those producers whose primacy in Germany doesn’t always connect with American drinkers, yet the wines deserve all the acclaim and glory they get in their native land.  Armin Diel is one of the pre-eminent wine writers in Germany and also one of the most acclaimed winemakers, and it’s hard to know which brings him more respect (imagine if Antonio Galloni also owned a winery like Schrader or Spottswoode).  As a result, the wines are snapped up inside Germany and very little makes it to our shores.  We have a little to offer you today and if you’re even casually interested in German wines, sweet or dry, you should try these beauties from the Nahe.

The style of the wines is a little different than the other two top estates in the Nahe (Donnhoff and Schaefer-Frolich). They’re less overt than the wines that Donnhoff makes and a little less austere than the wines of S-F, which to our palate is a nice middle ground to be in.  Nevertheless, when you drink them, there’s something that always stirs us—these wines have soul.

Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Burgberg Riesling Spatlese 2004 750ML ($69.95) $54.40 special, 18 bottles available
Stephen Tanzer 92 points “Resplendent aromas of papaya, pineapple and oyster shell. Dense but juicy, with a finely spiced acidity that seizes one’s palate. Finishes with impressive concentration and length. One of the finest spatleses of the vintage.” ST

Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Kabinett 2015 750ML ($37.95) $28 special, 8 bottles available
“The 2015 Goldloch Riesling Kabinett from the village of Dorsheim offers some honey wax and rice flavors on the youthful nose. On the palate, the wine is pure, fresh and piquant, a classic Kabinett with ripe yellow stone fruit aromas. Straight and piquant.”-Wine Advocate
Terry Theise notes: “A cool, delicate rendering of the Great Lady that is Goldloch; a lovely being of a certain fleshy amplitude but also fresh, vertical, and snappy—there’s almost 10g of acidity with 45g of RS; a classic paradigm of high-acid German Riesling.”

Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Auslese, Nahe 2015 750ML ($59.95) $49 special, 9 bottles available
Wine Advocate 93 points “On the nose, the 2015 Goldloch Riesling Auslese is smoky, pure and deep in its fruity flavors. On the palate, it is a rich and intense Riesling with purity, piquant acidity and a lot of grip and tension. It has a persistent finish.”

Schlossgut Diel Eierfels Riesling Trocken, Nahe 2015 750ML ($44.95) $33 special, 11 bottles available
Wine Advocate 91+ points “The 2015 Dorsheim Riesling Trocken Eierfels is the negative selection of the Dorsheim grands crus Burgberg and Goldloch. It comes along as a pretty rich and intensely flavored Riesling with spicy/stony notes and ripe fruit aromas. Full-bodied and complex, this is a piquant and salty Riesling with impressive intensity and length. It is pretty accessible already.”

Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Grosses Gewachs, Nahe 2015 750ML ($79.95) $59 special, 7 bottles available
Wine Advocate 93 points “The 2015 Goldloch Riesling GG opens super ripe, intense and concentrated on the nose, with ripe fruit and Mediterranean herbal aromas–like dried white bread with olive oil and rosemary flavors. On the palate, this is a rich, powerful though pure, complex and elegant Riesling with herbal flavors and a super ripe, concentrated fruit aroma in the finish. This wine is pure and rich at the same time, and I wonder where it goes from here. The finish is long and intense, showing good grip and intensity.”

Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Pittermannchen Riesling Grosses Gewachs, Nahe 2015 750ML ($79.95) $59 special, 8 bottles available
Wine Advocate 93 points “The 2015 Pittermännchen Riesling GG trocken is lovely, pure, ripe and intense on the nose, offering flavors of freshly crushed stones along with ripe fruit aromas. Rich but refined on the palate, this is a pure, piquant and finesse-full dry Riesling with a dense, intense, very long and complex finish that keeps the purity and tension util the very end. A gorgeous Riesling.”

This is the lowest listed price in the USA today!

Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Pittermannchen Riesling Spatlese, Nahe 2015 750ML ($59.95) $49 special, 9 bottles available
Wine Advocate 93 points “The 2015 Pittermännchen Riesling Spätlese opens clear and slatey on the nose, with flinty, dusty flavors and lovely purity. On the palate, this is a very piquant and refined Riesling with lots of juice, finesse and elegance. It’s a light-hearted wine with white fruit flavors and good salinity. You can enjoy the 2015 for more than 20 years yet I’d keep it under cork for another 4-5 years.”
