Sparkling:

Savory and crisp, this is surprisingly good
Ovum Rare Form ‘Day Moon’ Sparkling, Dundee Hills NV 750ml Was $59, Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 12 bottles in stock now
Wine & Spirits 94 points
“From a vineyard in the Dundee Hills, this is organically grown riesling fermented in amphorae and aged in old barrels for a year, then two years in bottle. It’s a thought-provoking wine, subtle in a variety of ways—subtle lees notes, subtle oxidative notes, the flavors hinting at lemon, apple, Georgian savor. this stayed fresh for five days despite the intentional low pressure of its bubbles. It’s a wine to ponder with a grand plateau.”

One for the cellar (and one in ours), inspired by the greatest names in Grower Champagne
Goodfellow Family Cellars Whistling Ridge Vineyard Blanc de Blancs Brut NV 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 18 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“100% Chardonnay grown on sedimentary soils on top of Ribbon Ridge. Vintages 2019-2021. The original multi-clonal Chardonnay planting of Whistling Ridge together with the vines we top-grafted over to cuttings from Cameron’s Clos Electrique. More than 10 different known clones between them (including a section of the old Mt. Eden massale block brought to Oregon by John Paul of Cameron winery in the 80s.) Skins are thicker and the shallow soils offer intensely flavored fruit and high acidity, at low Brix. Aromatics are flinty in nature, seawater, oyster shells, stony, struck match and more oceanic qualities. In the mouth, more stones, kaffir lime curd, mandarin peel, steel, and star fruit. This is the densest of the wines, and perhaps the most youthful/energetic in the palate (we bottled two Blanc de Blancs cuvees from Whistling Ridge in the first round of tirage and the other will sleep in bottle a few more years). It’s bursting with flavor, and there is the signature youthful cut, astringency, and drive of Whistling Ridge. As much as this cuvee also has a big percentage of wine with more than 30 months on lees prior to going to bottle for two more years, there is a distinct feel of a punk rock attitude here. The wine is best consumed over as many hours as you can give it…just like every other Whistling Ridge wine.”

Chardonnay:

Mineral and bright, this is a must-try from our favorite cult WV producer
Championship Bottle ‘Gravity’s Pull’ Dion Vineyard Chardonnay, Willamette Valley 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $31.90, that’s $30.31 at 5% off and $28.71 at 10% off, 13 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“2021 is a dynamite vintage for Chardonnay in the Willamette Valley, and we think this is perhaps the best vintage of Gravity’s Pull yet. As always, this hails from Dion Vineyard and its ungrafted, 30+ year-old Chardonnay vines, planted in windblown loess soils. It’s telling that across Europe, producers who are lucky enough to have ungrafted vineyards prize them supremely for the je ne sais quoi they seem to provide. Every time we taste Gravity’s Pull, we think that must be happening here, as well, and are grateful to get to work with the vineyard.”

A classic!
The Eyrie Vineyards Chardonnay, Dundee Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $44.50, that’s $42.28 at 5% off and $40.05 at 10% off, 12 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“The 2022 vintage marks the seventh year that Eyrie Chardonnay includes both the Draper Selection from The Eyrie Vineyard but also heritage clones planted at Sisters Vineyard in the Dundee Hills. The Wente Clone and the Sterling Clone total 39% of the blend and come from 8 year old vines in the Sisters Vineyard. The Draper selection represents the balance of the blend and comes from 57 year old vines in the original Eyrie Vineyard.”

Bolder than most at a mighty fine price
Siduri Chardonnay, Willamette Valley 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $21.90, that’s $20.81 at 5% off and $19.71 at 10% off, 32 bottles in stock now
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 93 points
“The 2020 Chardonnay Willamette Valley was matured for 10 months in 25% new French oak. It has youthful aromas of yellow peach and apples, cashews, toast and creamy undertones. The medium-bodied palate features generous, layered flavors delivered in an alluringly creamy texture. It has a foil of bright acidity and a long, energetic finish. 3,600 cases were made.”

Jim Maresh’s new project showcasing some of the best terroir for Chard in Oregon
Tan Fruit ‘Tank Fruit’ Chardonnay, Eola-Amity Hills 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 19 bottles in stock now
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 97 points
“The 2021 Chardonnay Tank Fruit is composed of fruit from the White Walnut Vineyard, a relatively new vineyard comprising eight acres planted around 2015 in the Dundee Hills. “The genetics that produced this is rare,” winemaker Jim Maresh explains, noting that the diverse clonal material in this vineyard includes 10 different heritage selections. The White Walnut Vineyard cuvée was fermented in oak and finished in stainless steel—the opposite of this 2021 Chardonnay Tank Fruit, which also comes from the White Walnut Vineyard but is fermented in stainless steel and finished in oak—although both wines offer singular exoticism. The Tank Fruit is bursting with intense aromas of peaches, fruit cocktail, lemongrass and orange oil with streaks of spice and herbs. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and seamless, gaining amplitude in the mouth as it releases wave after wave of concentrated fruit. It has a soft frame of flinty accents, and its fresh acidity calls you in for another sip on the long finish.”

Spicy, round, and full of orchard fruit flavors this is excellent at table

Wine Enthusiast 95 points
“Such a fresh, mineral-driven nose. The chalk dust, wet stone and saline notes blend effortlessly with lemon, peach and pear aromas. This wine flashes razor-sharp acidity, so be warned butter lovers. Grilled lemon, lemon balm and roasted chestnut flavors bring joy and happiness.”

An elegant, old-world styled wine
Arnot-Roberts Watson Ranch Chardonnay, Napa Valley 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $44.50, that’s $42.28 at 5% off and $40.05 at 10% off, 23 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 92 points
“The 2022 Chardonnay Watson Ranch shows lovely textural depth and resonance. Dried pear, spice, menthol, dried flowers and herbs fill out the layers nicely. The balance here is sublime. This is an especially savory, earthy Chardonnay, with fruit pushed into the background. The 2022 is all class.”

Ripe and impactful with flavor amped up to 11 in the 2020 vintage
Mount Eden Vineyards Wolff Vineyard Chardonnay, Edna Valley 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $24, that’s $22.80 at 5% off and $21.60 at 10% off, 36+ bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 91 points
“The 2020 Chardonnay Wolff Vineyard is fabulous, something that is all the more remarkable considering the freakish year. Orange confit, pineapple, butter, apricot, tangerine and spice are all dialed up in this decidedly exotic, lush Chardonnay from Mount Eden. The 2020 is not at all subtle, but it sure is delicious.”

Étienne de Montille’s (of Domaine de Montille) project in California that’s turning heads and captivating hearts with its soulful and precise wines
Racines Wenzlau Family Vineyard Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $89, that’s $84.55 at 5% off and $80.10 at 10% off, 19 bottles in stock now
Decanter 95 points
“Beguiling complexity, depth and beauty mark this outstanding Chardonnay from the Wenzlau Family Vineyard in the Sta Rita Hills. In a year when so many of California’s wine regions were devastated by smoke, this wine shows a fresh, airy poise—delicate and precise aromas of crushed chalk, petrichor, sweet white flower pollen and hints of seaspray. The palate is exquisite; a sophistication of flavours and textures collide. A savoury, briny minerality outlines apricot skin, early-season nectarine and subtle hints of bee pollen. The finish is fine, filigreed and fresh.”

Antonio Galloni-Vinous 95 points
“The 2021 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard shows all the translucent finesse and nuance that is so typical of wines from this site. Lemon peel, chalk, mint white pepper and crushed rocks all run through this finely sculpted, delineated Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. This is such a gorgeous wine.”

Single-vineyard Chard from heritage selection plantings
Paul Hobbs George Menini Estate Chardonnay, Russian River Valley 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $69, that’s $65.55 at 5% off and $62.10 at 10% off, 18 bottles in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 95 points
“The 2020 Chardonnay George Menini Estate is lifted with fresh tarragon, flint, and candied green apple. The palate is all about its chalky mineral texture and vibrant energy. Not to confuse this with losing balance or feeling underripe, it has plenty of fruit, with lemon confit, fresh green apple, and a touch of warming baking spice. Allow another year or two in cellar and drink 2023-2034.”
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 95 points “The 2020 Chardonnay George Menini Estate is the first iteration of this single-vineyard wine from Paul Hobbs, from a vineyard that he recently purchased. Previously an apple orchard, it was planted to 39 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 2015, mostly with heritage selections like Wente and Hudson. The vines are dry farmed in classic Goldridge soils. “The newer vineyards that I purchase are in cooler pockets, so I don’t have to acidulate,” Hobbs explains. “It has become a hallmark in the quest for vineyards, and the need to dry farm.” Matured for 15 months in 30% new oak, it has very pretty scents of white peach, honey, crushed almonds and flint. The light-bodied palate is silky with expansive flavors foiled by focused acidity, and it finishes with a touch of anchoring textural grip. 491 cases produced.”

Other Whites:

A customer favorite Pinot Gris
The Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Gris Estate, Dundee Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $24.50, that’s $23.28 at 5% off and $22.05 at 10% off, 10 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 92 points
“The 2022 Pinot Gris Estate is delicate, with an understated bouquet of wildflowers and hints of ginger. The entry is round and soothing, contrasted by a reverberation of acid-driven tension as white pit fruits and sour melon nuances swirl throughout. The 2022 tapers off with a pleasantly bitter twang as lime and liquid stone suggestions fade slowly.”

A single-vineyard estate wine from the Terlato family, full of tantalizing fruit and cream notes

Wine Spectator 94 points
“Stunning, this exuberant, generous version shows notes of passion fruit, Key lime, dried pineapple and orange blossoms, along with grated ginger. Reveals a hint of sea salt minerality on the long, expressive finish, where toasted herb accents linger.”

Goodfellow makes top-notch Pinots, but don’t miss their highly affordable and addictive whites!
Goodfellow Family Cellars Whistling Ridge Vineyard Riesling, Ribbon Ridge 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $28, that’s $26.60 at 5% off and $25.20 at 10% off, 27 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“Lime peel, stone fruit, tangerine, rainier cherry, and river stones. Raised in an old 820L Acacia puncheon, this is textural and tranquil in the attack, then unfolds like a flower blossom in the palate with soft fruit and florals which give way to juicy, lingering acidity. Tasting this is entertaining, the original tranquility and supple texture suggests one direction, and then the explosion of nuance in the mid-palate reverses course, the acidity is soft and juicy but somehow sustains much longer than one would expect. This is one of my favorite versions of this wine. 11.1% abv and 86 cases produced.”

Eric Guido-Vinous 93 points
“The 2022 Pinot Blanc Freedom Hill Vineyard opens with a rich and spicy blend of crushed stone, dried apricots and mint. Soft, silky textures soothe, filling the palate with masses of mineral-tinged orchard fruits and savory spice. It tapers lemon oil and raw almond.”

Textural and intriguing!
Arnot-Roberts Vare Vineyard Ribolla Gialla, Napa Valley 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $47, that’s $44.65 at 5% off and $42.30 at 10% off, 4 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 93 points
“The 2020 Ribolla Gialla Vare Vineyard is super-elegant, savory and nuanced. In 2020, the Ribolla has a bit more edginess than in most years, probably a combination of the natural character of Ribolla, early bottling and the early personality of the year. I like the aromatics quite a bit, though. This needs time in bottle. There is plenty of energy.”

Rosé:

You’ll have to fight the staff for this one…
Arnot-Roberts Rosé, Lake County 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $26, that’s $24.70 at 5% off and $23.40 at 10% off, 24 bottles in stock now
Winery Notes
“Arnot-Roberts began making Rosé from Touriga Nacional in 2010. They were compelled by the grape’s deep color, brilliant acidity and aromatic complexity even at low sugar content. The fruit is hand-harvested, then lightly crushed by foot to release some color prior to pressing. The juice is fermented with native yeasts and full native malolactic in all stainless steel tanks, then blended together to harmonize.”

A Drouhin project that could rival rosés for twice the price
Cloudline Cellars Rosé, Willamette Valley 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $11.90, that’s $11.31 at 5% off and $10.71 at 10% off, 34 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“The 2021 Cloudline Rosé of Pinot Noir expresses a floral nose of strawberry blossom and hawthorns. A beautiful salmon color, the wine has the lively texture of classic rosé and a flavor palate that includes strawberry, kiwi and a touch of lemongrass. Consider this a summer dream for any time of the year!”

A classic from Jay Somers and Ronda Newell-Somers!
J.C. Somers ‘Whole Lotta’ Rose, Oregon 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $14, that’s $13.30 at 5% off and $12.60 at 10% off, 20 bottles in stock now
Michael Alberty-Wine Enthusiast 90 points
“This 50-50 blend of Grenache and Tempranillo will leave rosé fans thunderstruck. Orange and chalk dust aromas are subtle, but the wine’s iced black tea with lemon and raspberry flavors will shake you all night long. Some might think the tangy direct current of acidity is a touch too much, but they’d be wrong.”
