Year in, year out, few producers worldwide can claim to have the quality and consistency of Fèlsina. The flagship Chianti Classico Riserva is consistently one of the greatest values in Tuscany. It’s cellar-worthy, though delicious out of the gate with dense tannins and fruit. The 100% Sangiovese Fontalloro is a Brunello-drinker’s dream, with explosive aromatics and lots of power to back it up.

The top Chianti Classico Riserva of the estate, the Rancia, is an exceptional single-vineyard wine. Felsina rehabilitated the site and cloned the best vines throughout the vineyard, eventually spreading them throughout their other holdings. The dominant soil type of the vineyard is albarese, a type of limestone-infused sandstone that’s famous for the aromatic punch it contributes to the wine.

Felsina Berardenga Fontalloro Toscana IGT 2018 1.5L Displayed Price: $128, that’s $121.60 at 5% off and $115.20 at 10% off, 10 magnums in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 95 points
“The 2018 Fontalloro is bright, floral and full of energy. In most vintages, Fontalloro is quite open, but the 2018 is especially nervy and taut. That won’t be an issue in time, of course, but readers should plan on being patient. Sangiovese is so expressive here. A whole range of floral and savory accents lingers on the close.”
Monica Larner-Wine Advocate 95 points “To my palate, the 2018 vintage sometimes feels a little too ripe or baked. I was reminded of those characteristics when tasting the Fèlsina 2018 Fontalloro. There is plenty of dark fruit at its core, but this wine also reveals dry tones of jarred oregano, grilled Mediterranean herb, crushed aspirin and graham cracker. The mouthfeel is pleasantly lean and silky, and perhaps the wine delivers more in terms of length than it does weight or texture. A little more bottle age should help flesh out and soften these results.”

Felsina Berardenga Fontalloro Toscana IGT 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $62.50, that’s $59.38 at 5% off and $56.25 at 10% off, 36+ bottles in stock now
James Suckling 96 points
“A fresh and crunchy Fontalloro with currants, orange peel and hints of peaches and cedar. Medium body, firm and fine tannins and a crisp and bright finish. Lots of energy and verticality to this! Drink after 2025.”

Felsina Berardenga Fontalloro Toscana IGT 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $66, that’s $62.70 at 5% off and $59.40 at 10% off, 27 bottles in stock now
Wine Spectator 95 points
“A vibrant red, with fleeting aromas of lavender and wild rosemary mingling with cherry, orange peel, earth, mineral and tobacco flavors. On the elegant side, despite its youthful power, with excellent harmony, refined tannins and a long, complex aftertaste. Sangiovese. Best from 2026 through 2045. 3,800 cases made, 1,200 cases imported.”

Felsina Berardenga ‘Colonia’, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2010 750ml Displayed Price: $149, that’s $141.55 at 5% off and $134.10 at 10% off, 10 bottles in stock now
Monica Larner-Wine Advocate 95+ points
“When you hear the story of the effort that went into making the Colonia vineyard, you have to wonder if the fine folks at Fèlsina are absolutely mad. It took them two years of dynamite blasting to clear the imposing rock that had forced previous generations of the Poggiali family to virtually abandon this site. But an ambitious Giovanni Poggiali takes credit for making this spectacular vineyard what it is today. The wine produced here is quickly becoming the second flagship product after Fontalloro. The 2010 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colonia is a wine of enormous beauty and depth. This is Sangiovese at its highest expression and any doubt I had about the previous vintage (which was the first time this wine appeared as a Gran Selezione) have been washed away by this current release. What really stands out are the wine’s precise mineral and graphite aromas that lend an incredible sense of focus and balance. The oak element is also beautifully integrated.”

Felsina Berardenga Rancia, Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020 750ml Displayed Price: $51.90, that’s $49.31 at 5% off and $46.71 at 10% off, 10 bottles in stock now
Wine Spectator 95 points
“Intense, with complex flavors of cherry, blackberry, violet, mineral and leafy underbrush, this red is silky and verges on racy. Harmonious and persistent, with a long, resonant aftertaste that echoes red fruit, mineral and savory elements. Best from 2025 through 2045. 4,100 cases made, 1,800 cases imported.”

Pagliarese Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $31.90, that’s $30.31 at 5% off and $28.71 at 10% off, 26 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 93 points
“The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva is another gorgeous old-school wine from Pagliarese. Black cherry, cloves, licorice, leather and woodsmoke give the 2018 its distinctive, somber feel. This dense, super-expressive Riserva certainly has tons of character. Tasting the 2018 is like stepping back in time thirty years.”

BOND Estates

Described by Antonio Galloni as a “once in a generation, modern day classic,” these are prestigious wines from Napa Valley. Launched in the 1990s, the San Francisco Chronicle describes the concept as completely at odds with what was popular at the time: style (one could snidely argue “over substance,” but really the article says over terroir):

“Bond instead emphasized a sense of place as its organizing principle, asserting that minute differences in a vineyard’s climate, soil and exposure — rather than the winemaking techniques — were the true variables. For its particular upscale audience, and for that moment in time, Bond deserves credit for having legitimized certain ideas of California terroir.” – Esther Mobley, SF Chronicle

And the resulting wines? A “viscerally thrilling” experience of five single-vineyard wines from unique micro-climates in Napa Valley. These astonishing beauties can be yours at incredible pricing thanks to our Close-Out Sale!

BOND Melbury, Napa Valley 2015 750ml Was $649, Now $599, 1 bottle in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 98 points
“The more time passes, the more I think Melbury may turn out to be one of the most complete wines in the BOND range. The 2016 and 2015 both make a very strong case for that view. Tasted from bottle, the 2015 is exceptionally beautiful and vivid. Blood orange, mint and floral notes add nuance to an unbelievably polished, refined Cabernet Sauvignon. Put simply, the 2015 Melbury is a total stunner and every bit as captivating as it was last year.”

BOND Melbury, Napa Valley 2018 750ml Was $819, Now $599, 1 bottle in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 98 points
“The 2018 Melbury is, as always, the first of the single-vineyard wines presented at Bond. The order is always the same: Melbury-Quella-St. Eden-Vecina and Pluribus. I suppose that makes sense from the standpoint of concentration and structure, but it is quite penalizing for the Melbury, a wine that is more about elegance than power or tannins. That said, the 2018 is not a shy wine, it certainly has plenty of depth. Freshness, energy and verve are the signatures in a Cabernet that is all about intangibles. Hints of dark red cherry, tobacco, rose petal, mint and sweet spice emerge over time. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”

BOND Pluribus, Napa Valley 2018 750ml Was $819, Now $699, 1 bottle in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 99 points
“The 2018 Pluribus captures all of the savory, mineral intensity of this site on Spring Mountain. Searing tannins, once such a challenge here, are much more finessed than in the past. Crushed rocks, mint, blood orange, gravel, exotic spice and rose petal lend tremendous complexity as the Pluribus shows off its considerable allure. This taut, mountain Cabernet Sauvignon has so much to offer. Today, it is wonderfully complete and thrilling. Even so, the best is yet to come.”

BOND Quella, Napa Valley 2015 750ml Was $649, Now $599, 1 bottle in stock now
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate 97 points
“Bottled in early 2018, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Quella gives aromas of blackcurrants, black cherries and mulberries with touches of tobacco, new leather, iron ore and truffles plus a hint of tree back. The palate is full-bodied, muscular and laden with earth and mineral layers, finishing with persistent savory notes.”

BOND Quella, Napa Valley 2018 750ml Was $819, Now $599, 1 bottle in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 97 points
“The 2018 Quella is rich, ample and beautifully resonant in the glass. There’s terrific depth here and tons of class. Blood orange, game, licorice, tobacco, lavender and dried herbs give the Quella beguiling aromatic presence to play off its muscular, brooding personality. The 2018 needs a few years to soften, but it is already compelling, to say the least.”

BOND St. Eden, Napa Valley 2015 750ml Was $699, Now $599, 1 bottle in stock now
Jeb Dunnuck 100 points
“Moving to the 2015s tasted from bottle, this is an incredible vintage for this estate and there are two perfect wines in the lineup. First up, the 2015 St. Eden, from a hillside of red volcanic soils near Oakville, boasts a saturated purple color and heavenly notes of blackcurrants, scorched earth, lead pencil shavings, and huge crushed rock-like minerality. It’s full-bodied, deep, and layered on the palate, with incredible concentration, yet it stays seamless, pure, and perfectly balanced. It’s a magical wine to drink over the coming 2-3 decades.”

BOND St. Eden, Napa Valley 2018 750ml Was $819, Now $619, 1 bottle in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 97 points
“The 2018 St. Eden is impressive. Dense and powerful in the glass, the 2018 is done in a style that emphasizes freshness and vibrancy, reflecting a generational transition in all of these wines that is most apparent here. Dark fruit, licorice, mocha, spice and chocolate begin to emerge with time, but the St. Eden is much less forthcoming than in the past. In fact, the 2018 might very well be the most reticent St. Eden I have ever tasted. That energy will serve it well in the cellar. Readers accustomed to the voluptuous, lush St. Edens of the past will not find that in the 2018. As much as the style has changed in this wine, I am not surprised to see that. A complete vertical of the Bond wines a few years ago showed the St. Eden to have the most condensed arc of peak drinkability of the Bond wines.”

BOND Vecina, Napa Valley 2018 750ml Was $819, Now $619, 1 bottle in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 99 points
“A regal, soaring wine, the 2018 Vecina is immediately captivating. Red fruit, iron, dried rose petal and exotic spice all soar out of the glass. Over the last two months the Vecina has acquired stunning aromatic presence to play off its deep, layered fruit. The 2018 is an absolute gem in the making. As a reminder, Vecina is sourced from Vine Hill Ranch, at the southern end of Oakville, where the Cabernets are distinguished by a beguiling combination of power and savory/earthy intensity.”
