Paul Gregutt 92 points
“This is only the third intentional (non saignée) rosé ever made at Brick House I am told. It comes from young vines that were replanted after phylloxera began taking out the older Pinot. This was sourced from a five year old Pommard block. Don’t let the light color fool you, this is a big, flavorful, fruit-powered rosé, rich with sweet bubblegum, peach, papaya and tropical fruit flavors.”

Norm Roby-Wine Review Online 93 points “From the family’s estate vineyard, this wine was made by Eric Weisinger at his winery in Ashland. The Rosé category has been surging over recent years and one of the intriguing sub plots relates to color. Does a Rosé wine have to be pink? Apparently not, as more and more winemakers work with Rosés. This wine has a slight copper color in the clear bottle, but when in the glass looks even lighter. But it is no wimpy Rosé. Once you get over that lack of color, this wine gets your attention by offering an enticing youthful fragrance of fresh raspberry along with floral notes, and delicious flavors of berries and spice. Medium bodied and vibrant, it finishes with a lingering touch of acidity.”

Josh Raynolds-Vinous 94 points
“Vivid onion skin color. A highly perfumed and complex bouquet evokes fresh citrus and pit fruits, strawberry and pungent flowers, along with building mineral and succulent herb elements. Shows excellent clarity and depth to its juicy red fruit, nectarine and mango flavors, which are sweetened by a background of vanilla note. Finishes impressively long and silky, with the mineral and floral note resonating. “
Wine & Spirits 93 points “In 2021, Petrassol credits the micro climate at their estate for the late budbreak that evaded late-April frosts, also escaping a fire (merci, le mistral), a hailstorm in nearby Pignan *blocked by hills) and flooding. More than a vintage survivor, this wine is chewy and immediately pleasurable; it captured our panel’s attention in the sweetness of its fruit. Its substantial weight would work well with a range of dishes, or stand as a meal on its own, letting it saturate your mouth, cherry-blossom accents peeking out around the edges of the finish. Its complexity is subtle but present, like a carefully-measured craft cocktail.”

No shrinking violet here, this is intense and incisive
Chateau Pradeaux Rosé, Bandol 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $31.90, that’s $30.31 at 5% off and $28.71 at 10% off, 14 bottles in stock now
Wine Spectator 91 points
“With its dark orange-magenta hue, this hefty rosé is not for casual poolside sipping. Gutsy in feel, with layers of bergamot, blood orange, rooibos tea and dried herbs. Though this is tightly coiled and structured, allowing a year of bottle age will allow this to achieve peak harmony and integration. Distinctive and well-made. Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2030.”

The younger sibling of the Bandol, this offsets its lighter body with a refreshing drink-now-with-food zippiness

Wine Spectator 92 points
“This is sturdy and fresh, with a copper hue and loads of blood orange, freshly squeezed tangerine and dried garrigue. White cherry and grapefruit notes chime in, bringing a pleasing bitterness to the densely built palate. Finely sculpted tannins guide the long, tangy finish, marked by a mint detail. Distinctive and delicious now, this rosé will age well for years to come. Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache. Drink now through 2028.”

Our favorite Italian rosé to tuck away in our cellars for a year or two, this is just entering its prime drinking window
Proprieta Sperino ‘Rosa del Rosa’ Rosato Coste della Sesia, Piedmont 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $24, that’s $22.80 at 5% off and $21.60 at 10% off, 22 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 91 points
“The 2022 Rosa del Rosa is delicate and airy in the glass, slowly evolving with green melon, dusty rose and ginger. It’s silk and enveloping with a burst of minerality up front that gives way to young peach and savory spice. This leaves the palate bone dry yet watering for more as the 2022 finishes pleasantly chewy and with medium length. This is a more understated vintage for the Rosa Del Rosa, yet still pleasurable.”
