Carlton Hill Vineyard Blanc de Noir Extra Brut, Yamhill-Carlton District 2016 750ml Displayed Price: $79, that’s $75.05 at 5% off and $71.10 at 10% off, 3 bottles in stock now
Winery Note
“And so the story continues with Carlton Hill’s foray into the world of sparkling wine. This is our second bottling from the 2016 Blanc de Noir vintage. In September of 2021, we conducted our dosage trials and ultimately disgorged 39 cases of what will forever be known as the “Second Disgorge”. These sparkling wines, produced by the traditional Méthode Champenoise, have been on yeast for approximately five years to achieve a more extended tirage. Preferring a truer expression of the underlying fruit and dryness for this sparkling wine, we kept the final sugar levels at a minimum to achieve the Extra Brut status with less than 2,5g/l residual sugar. Enjoy.”

The Eyrie Vineyards ‘Spark’ Sparkling Rose, Willamette Valley NV 750ml Displayed Price: $19, that’s $18.05 at 5% off and $17.10 at 10% off, 9 bottles in stock now
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 90 points
“The NV Spark is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 37% Chasselas Doré and 8% Pinot Blanc, from 31-year-old vines. It is an “ultra brut,” although this particular bottling is made using forced carbonation instead of méthode Champenois. Medium to deep cherry-pink in color, it has aromas of cantaloupe, strawberries, raspberries and lemon peel with notes of stone and toast. The palate is dry with citrus and red berry flavors, spritely mousse and a refreshing, mineral-driven finish.”

Goodfellow Family Cellars Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut, Willamette Valley NV 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 22 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 92 points
“Dusty florals and spices give way to yellow apples and hints of iodine as the NV Extra Brut evolves in the glass. Soothingly round and textured, it sweeps across the palate with ripe orchard fruits and a bead of creamy bubbles. This finishes remarkably clean and pure, leaving a resonance of ripe Anjou pear to linger on. The balance here is unreal. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter.”

Lytle-Barnett Sparkling Blanc de Noirs, Eola-Amity Hills 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 17 bottles in stock now
Owen Bargreen 93 points
“This 2018 ‘Blanc de Noirs’ saw extended tirage and was sourced from the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Green melon and biscuit notes combine with suggestions of nectarine rind on the nose. The palate is beautifully textured with good weight and finesse. Showing the warmth of the vintage, this very rich and gratifying Pinot Noir sparking wine will be sure to hold well over the next eight to ten years. Drink 2022-2030.”

Ovum Rare Form ‘Day Moon’ Sparkling, Dundee Hills NV 750ml Was $59, Now $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 3 bottles in stock now
Wine & Spirits 94 points
“From a vineyard in the Dundee Hills, this is organically grown riesling fermented in amphorae and aged in old barrels for a year, then two years in bottle. It’s a thought-provoking wine, subtle in a variety of ways—subtle lees notes, subtle oxidative notes, the flavors hinting at lemon, apple, Georgian savor. this stayed fresh for five days despite the intentional low pressure of its bubbles. It’s a wine to ponder with a grand plateau.”

“Dynamic yet sleekly elegant, with rich strawberry and apple flavors that are accented by spiced cinnamon and yeast roll as this dances toward the vibrant finish.”

Decanter 92 points
“[Reviewed in 2023] A blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from Mendocino County with 10 g/L of residual sugar, aged a minimum of two years en tirage and six months under cork. 14,000 bottles were produced. Riveting aromatics of brioche, creme brule, and candied citrus. Broad and mouth-filling with a creamy mousse that, upon resolve, delivers a crisp wine with depth and textures of crushed river stones, layered with red berry fruit, apricots and tangerine notes, and nutty overtones on the finish. (Drink between 2023-2028).”

Scharffenberger Cellars Brut Rosé, Mendocino County NV 750ml Displayed Price: $24, that’s $22.80 at 5% off and $21.60 at 10% off, 12 bottles in stock now
The Tasting Panel 93 points
“The poppy on the label of this suave blend of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir is a tribute to the superblooms that occur throughout California in springtime but it also hints at the dry wine’s floral subtleties. There’s a faint touch of lilac on a nose brimming with fresh-baked sourdough, cherry, and blood orange, while rose graces the finish, preceded by splashes of wild strawberry, lemon rind, and Gala apple.”

Sea Smoke Sea Spray, Sta Rita Hills 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $79, that’s $75.05 at 5% off and $71.10 at 10% off, 6 bottles in stock now
Wine Enthusiast 94 points
“Fresh aromas of smashed black cherry and dark strawberry prove quite juicy on the nose of this bottling, while tarragon, cinnamon and nutmeg elements add nuance. The palate is like a bowlful of cherries and strawberries, sprinkled generously with chai and French toast spices, proving immensely easy to quaff.”

Sivilli Wine Co. Willamette Valley Traditional Method Sparkling NV 750ml Displayed Price: $38, that’s $36.10 at 5% off and $34.20 at 10% off, 16 bottles in stock now
VinopolNote:
This is a balanced, mouth-watering sparkler from Cameron Winery’s assistant winemaker, Tom Sivilli. Those in the know will understand that these wines are among the best in the Willamette Valley and are unfortunately very limited production, so they never last long! Nice and toasty on the palette, even a bit Brioche-y. Highly recommended.

St. Innocent Brut, Willamette Valley 2017 750ml Displayed Price: $69, that’s $65.55 at 5% off and $62.10 at 10% off, 3 bottles in stock now
Owen Bargreen 92 points
“The 2017 St. Innocent Brut is a beautiful wine that is already evolved nicely. A blend of 60% Chardonnay with the remainder Pinot Noir this beauty was disgorged in September 2022. Pear and apple flavors with cashew nut combine on the palate, with wonderful salty undertones and light effervescence. Only 118 cases made. Drink 2023-2029.”

From the fabulous and bold 2015 vintage, this Brunello is an open and gorgeously appointed wine that will leave you weak at the knees. The vineyard is a small, one-and-a-half-hectare plot that offers wines of extraordinary finesse and elegance, even in warmer years.

Mastrojanni Vigna Loreto, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015 750ml Was $125, Now $115, 20 bottles in stock now
Monica Larner-Wine Advocate 96 points
“The Mastrojanni 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Loreto shows a creamy and robust constitution with loads of black fruit and spice. If you are looking for a soft and more contemporary expression of Sangiovese, this will fit the bill. It offers profound richness and texture that is laced with black fruit, spice and tobacco. This wine moves one step beyond the comforting boundaries of Brunello in terms of both richness and extraction. If you are going to go big, you might as well do so in style. Only 8,000 bottles were released in January 2020.”
Eric Guido-Vinous 96 points “Mastrojanni’s 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Loreto shows depths of dusty red berry fruit and subtle spice, with minty herbs, crushed stone, sweet tobacco and the slightest hint of animal musk, all in a remarkably pretty expression. On the palate, I find silky textures with cool-toned red fruits, savory spice, saline-minerals, and energizing acidity, in an expression that is both polished yet also firmly rooted in the earth, as it glides effortlessly across the senses. The finish is long, showing ripe red fruits, salty-savory-minerals, leather, and wonderfully balanced tannins. It is so pleasurable already, yet full of potential.”
