Domaine Armand Rousseau
The King of Gevrey-Chambertin
Extensive Stocks of Library Rousseau
The wines of Rousseau have no peer in Gevrey-Chambertin. No other grower has produced wines with their level of profundity and a similar track record over the decades. From top to bottom, they are the class of the village. We are always on the hunt for their wines—as you’d expect they’re maddeningly scarce and correspondingly expensive, but we recently hit the jackpot and now have 25 different bottlings arriving next week.
View the complete list below, or click here to shop. Act quickly, though—most of these wines are limited to a bottle or two each. If there’s something that looks enticing, well, it’s first come, first served.
Arriving Early November:
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2007 750ML Buy Now: $1,899, only 1 bottle available
Stephen Tanzer 94+ points “Good full red-ruby. More reserved on the nose than the Beze, with terrific sappy verve to its aromas of dark fruits, violet, crushed stone, iron and camphor. Juicy, tightly wound and very intense on first pour, but opened spectacularly in the glass to show outstanding creamy depth without any loss of energy. Today the wine’s saline earth tones and minerality have the upper hand over its fruit. There’s less easy sweetness here than the Clos de Beze is displaying, but the slow ripening of the vintage is apparent, and the finishing flavors go on and on. It would be a rare (and expensive) treat to try these two wines side by side in 2020 or so.”
Burghound 94 points “By contrast to the Clos St. Jacques and the Bèze, the Cham has already eaten its wood which allows free rein for the spicy, pure, elegant and restrained earthy red pinot fruit with animale hints and ample mineral notes to dissolve seamlessly into dusty, textured, precise and palate staining big-bodied flavors that are exceptionally tight on the linear but hugely long finish. At present, the Bèze appears to have slightly better underlying material but we’ll see in time as both are sensational plus the Cham has a long demonstrated ability to add weight in bottle.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2008 750ML Buy Now: $1,599, only 1 bottle available
Burghound 96 points “A still mildly toasty nose features remarkably dense yet elegant aromas of deeply pitched yet extremely cool and restrained red and blue fruit aromas that are nuanced by a broad range of earth, game and underbrush hints. There is an utterly beguiling purity to the relatively refined but muscular medium full-bodied plus flavors that are strikingly complex, vibrant and perfectly balanced before culminating in a gorgeously long finish. This is brimming with upside development potential and while it too will require plenty of patience, its class and grace are such that it can be enjoyed now though I would strongly counsel waiting. In a word, magnificent. Tasted thrice recently with consistent notes.”
Antonio Galloni 95+ points “The 2008 Chambertin is rather delicate and almost ethereal in its seductive personality. This is another surprisingly open, expressive 2008. The tannins are elegant, while the wine’s balance is simply terrific.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2011 750ML Buy Now: $1,599, only 2 bottles available
Burghound 96 points “This is completely different from the Bèze aromatically speaking as here the nose is brooding and recalcitrant and only aggressive swirling liberates fresh scents of spice, wet stone, game and dark berry fruits. There is outstanding richness to the powerful and impressively scaled flavors that possess an abundance of dry extract that imparts a velvety quality to the mid-palate while also buffering the tightly wound core of firm tannins on the driving mineral-inflected and hugely persistent finish. This is a stunner of a wine and one of the great wines of the 2011 vintage.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2002 750ML Buy Now: $2,699, only 1 bottle available
Wine Advocate 94-96 points “The 2002 Chambertin Clos de Beze bursts with spicy red cherry aromas. This medium to full-bodied wine has an exceptionally spicy personality that is crammed with red licorice (Twizzlers), candied raspberries, Asian spices, and blackberries. Wonderfully focused and armed with substantial depth, this medium to full-bodied wine’s exceedingly long finish displays awesomely ripe tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2020.”
Burghound 94 points “(with thanks to Steve Baum and opened from personal storage). While not nearly as reserved as it once was the beautifully spicy and well-layered nose is on the restrained side with a distinctly earthy character to the elegant mix of both red and dark pinot fruit aromas that are just now beginning to display secondary hints. There is fine concentration to the utterly delicious flavors that are exuberant, big, rich, round and seductively sappy before culminating in an explosive and strikingly persistent finish. This remains an exciting wine of exceptional purity and balance. For my taste this is very much still on the way up and while it can certainly be drunk with pleasure it seems quite clear that this is nowhere yet near its apogee and as such, I would recommend allowing this to continue to slumber. Multiple and consistent notes save for one bottle that was initially reduced but quickly opened up.”
Stephen Tanzer 94+ points “Good ruby-red. Black raspberry, licorice and chocolatey oak on the nose. Offers compelling lushness, sweetness and fat for a 2002; wonderfully harmonious from the outset. Very suave, clearly defined flavors of blackberry and blueberry retain their shape through to the very long aftertaste. Tannins are quite fine.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2007 750ML Buy Now: $1,599, only 1 bottle available
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 96 points “The 2007 Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru is drinking beautifully at the moment. It has a pixilated bouquet that is utterly entrancing – red currant, bergamot, hints of pomegranate seeds and an underlying mineralite that is divine. The palate is perfectly balanced with extremely fine tannins. There is something regal and self-assured about this Clos-de-Beze, with a sense of weightlessness in the mouth that is bewitching. This both satisfies the senses and flirts with profundity. Dare I suggest this is too exquisite to cellar? Damn – I’ve just gone and done it. Drink now-2020.”
Stephen Tanzer-Vinous 95 points “Dark red-ruby. Exotic, in-your-face aromas of dark raspberry, dried rose petal, violet, licorice and minerals. Wonderfully silky on entry, then lush and sweet in the middle, offering a magical combination of fine-grained texture, sharp definition and underlying minerality. As sexy as this is today-and it’s much more expressive now than it was from barrel a year ago-its long, echoing, spreading finish and captivating palate-saturating sweetness suggest it will gain in complexity for a decade or two.”
Burghound 95 points “This too displays an almost invisible touch of oak influence that highlights stunningly complex and layered aromas that are positively kaleidoscopic in their sheer breadth with textured, cool and intensely mineral suffused big-bodied flavors that for all the focused muscularity sacrifice none of the fine detail this wine is known for, all wrapped in an almost painfully intense and explosively long and mouth coating finish. This is not a massive Bèze but it’s a real knockout.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2008 750ML Buy Now: $1,599, only 1 bottle available
Antonio Galloni 96+ points “Rousseau’s 2008 Chambertin-Clos de Beze is off the charts. Textured and layered throughout, this exquisite, captivating wine graces the palate with endless fruit framed by silky, refined tannins. All of the elements build effortlessly to the dazzling, impeccably crafted finish. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038.”
Burghound 95 points “This is every bit as elegant as the Clos St. Jacques but even deeper and broader with incredibly complex and refined red berry fruit, plum and violet aromas that are relatively cool and are in keeping with the balanced, refined and mouth coating flavors that possess superb depth and excellent finishing intensity on the explosive and gorgeously persistent finish. This is a really lovely ’08 that should improve for out to two decades.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Clos Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2005 Buy Now: $1,199, only 1 bottle available
David Schildknecht 94-96 points “With the 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St.-Jacques (which by its position in tastings here the Rousseaus conspicuously rate as grand cru) we arrive at the first wine that is matured in new wood. Pure, sweet, fresh black cherry fruit, marrowy and enveloping carnal richness, mysteriously enticing florality, low-toned, chalky minerality and accents of black tea and star anise are featured in this remarkably seamless wine. Meat, minerals and mystery dominate a finish that is profoundly layered yet preserves sheer palate-cleansing refreshment and positively vibrates with vividly fresh fruit intensity. Rousseau owns around one third of this great site, meaning that there are over a thousand cases of this phenomenal wine to ransack the marketplace in search of, then sock away for at least a decade and preferably two. It is always the last-harvested site, says Eric Rousseau, and in 2005 his roughly twenty veteran pickers could certainly afford to wait and richly rewarded us for it.”
Burghound 94 points “A ripe yet cool and wonderfully fresh nose is composed of mostly red berry fruit, discreet spice and earth, all of which is trimmed in an extremely subtle touch of oak. There is fine delineation and plenty of minerality on the utterly delicious middle weight flavors that are perhaps a bit less powerful than one might expect in the context of the vintage on the impeccably well-balanced and gorgeously long finish. This is a wonderfully harmonious effort that is very much still on the way up but among the 3 Rousseau “big boys”, this is the closest one to being able to enjoy now. That said, another 5 to 8 years will certainly return benefits.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Clos Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2007 Buy Now: $799, only 1 bottle available
Stephen Tanzer 93 points “Good deep red. Captivating, vibrant aromas of raspberry, flowers, minerals and spicy oak; seems much more primary than the foregoing samples and it’s hard to believe that this is just the new oak talking. Pretty, precise and energetic, yet at the same time displaying the creaminess of the vintage. Very pure raspberry, spice and mineral flavors linger impressively on the juicy, very long aftertaste.”
Burghound 93 points “A touch of wood spice frames an ultra elegant, cool and mineral suffused red currant, cherry and raspberry nose that complements to perfection the detailed, supple, round and wonderfully classy medium weight flavors that possess positively gorgeous complexity on the sappy, mouth coating and explosively long finish. A wine of harmony and style with outstanding depth and the particularity of the ’07 Clos St. Jacques is its unmatched delicacy.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Clos Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2009 750ML Buy Now: $1,199, only 2 bottles available
Burghound 93-96 points “Don’t miss! Outstanding! Discreet but not invisible wood spice adds breadth to the otherwise perfumed, elegant and ultra pure stone-infused red berry fruit nose. The detailed and strikingly intense medium-bodied flavors exude dry extract that effectively pushes the firm tannic spine to the background on the palate staining and massively long finish. This is a potentially great Clos St. Jacques that could rival the 2005 and potentially even the best vintage that I have ever tasted, the (presently) peerless ’62.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Clos Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2010 750ML Buy Now: $1,399, only 3 bottles available
Antonio Galloni 97 points “Rousseau’s 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques takes things into the stratosphere. A model of extreme purity and grace, the Clos St. Jacques leaves the room speechless, and understandably so. Here the fruit is impossibly sweet, perfumed and resonant. If there is one wine in this tasting that encapsulates what makes Burgundy so compelling, this is it. In a word: magnificent!”
Burghound 95 points “Moderate amounts of wood frames wonderfully fresh, airy, perfumed and beautifully complex aromas of red currant, warm earth, stone, crushed herbs and spice hints. The excellent depth of the nose continues onto the equally cool and brilliantly refined mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding depth of material and simply stunning length. We gave this an hour’s worth of air first and it helped enormously as it was quite closed at first. While I wouldn’t suggest opening a bottle now as there is sitll so much unrealized upside development potential remaining, if you do decide to pop one anytime soon, then be sure to decant it first for at least 30 minutes. In sum, this is a strikingly beautiful CSJ that should live for a very long time.”
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 95-97 points “The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques flows across the palate with fabulous depth and richness. Dark red fruit, licorice, smoke and exotic spices all come together in the glass, while the intensity of the fruit covers every corner of the palate. This huge, powerful wine will require considerable patience, but it is impeccable, not to mention stunning in its beauty. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Clos Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2012 750ML Buy Now: $999, only 1 bottle available
Antonio Galloni 97 points “A heady, exotic Burgundy, the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques is remarkably vivid for such a big wine, with freakish levels of concentration that are beautifully balanced by insistent veins of underlying minerality. Layers of pure Pinot fruit build through the mid-palate and finish as this voluptuous, racy wine shows off its fabulous pedigree. It simpy doesn’t get too much better than this.”
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 95 points “Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint Jacques from Armand Rousseau has the most sensual nose of the quintet, perhaps the ripest with maraschino cherries, fresh strawberry and fruits pastilles. This is certainly the most generous nose. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, more modern in style but very pure and harmonious. The oak is a little more pronounced on the finish but that will be subsumed in time, and then it will be a Clos Saint Jacques that you’ll with you could drink every day.”
Burghound 95 points “Outstanding. There is a deft touch of wood to the reluctant but ultra-elegant essence of red pinot fruit, floral elements and wet stone scents. This is splendidly well-detailed with a terrific sense of underlying tension adding energy to the medium weight flavors that brim with a fine minerality before culminating in a balanced and stunningly long finish. This ageworthy effort is the most refined wine among these four 2012s and dances across the palate. In a word, dazzling.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Clos Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2013 750ML Buy Now: $779, only 1 bottle available
Antonio Galloni 94-97 points “Rousseau’s 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques possesses gorgeous aromatic lift and energy. Polished and refined throughout, the 2013 is super-expressive. Winemaker Frédéric Robert adds that the grapes were especially small in 2013, with virtually no juice. Once again, Rousseau’s Clos St. Jacques looks to be one of the wines of the vintage.”
Stephen Tanzer-Vinous 95+ points “Good deep red. Much less reduced on the nose than Ruchottes, offering captivating, high-pitched perfume of raspberry, rose petal, blood orange and crushed stone. On the palate, the tangy raspberry, red cherry and mineral flavors show a penetrating character and superb lift without any weightiness or hardness. Finishes with very fine-grained tannins and mounting floral perfume. This brisk, cool, aristocratic wine is built for a graceful evolution in bottle.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin, Cote de Nuits 2011 750ML Buy Now: $219, only 1 bottle available
Burghound 88-91 points “There is a touch of reduction to the nose that takes out the top part of the red berry fruit and earth aromatic profile. There is a restrained character to the cool and pure flavors that are supported by notably fine-grained tannins on the clean, balanced and ever-so-mildly austere finish.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin, Cote de Nuits 2013 750ML Buy Now: $159, only 5 bottle available
Burghound 87-90 points “A subtle touch of wood sets off very fresh and distinctly earth dark berry fruit scents that lead to delicious, vibrant and well-detailed middle weight flavors that are supported by pliant tannins and bright acidity. This should drink well young but reward 5 to 8 years of cellaring as well.”
“The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin is quite pretty and delicate, with attractive floral and citrus overtones that add nuance to the fruit. This supple, expressive Burgundy is a good choice for near-term drinking.”-Antonio Galloni
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Chateau, Cote de Nuits 2014 Buy Now: $279, only 1 bottle available
“A pretty and relatively elegant nose consists of a variety of red berries that are laced by hints of earth spice and floral nuances. There is good vibrancy to the suave and velvety middle weight flavors that are decidedly supple before culminating in a succulent and nice balanced finale.”-Burghound
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Lavaux Saint-Jacques, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2012 750ML Buy Now: $249, only 3 bottles available
Antonio Galloni 90-92 points “Hard candy, sweet red berries and flowers are some of the notes found in the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St. Jacques. Here it is the wine’e energy and brilliance that stand out most. My impression is that the 2012 will drink well pretty much upon release given its mid-weight personality.”
Wine Advocate 90 points “Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St. Jacques from Domaine Armand Rousseau has an intriguing bouquet, quite complex with subtle tertiary scents infiltrating the brambly red berry fruit. This is well defined, a little laconic at first but it grows in confidence, becomes less tight-lipped. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannin, a little disjointed at the moment and the oak needs time to assimilate. At the moment, the nose deserves a better palate, yet it will surely coalesce into a superior wine than it is at present.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits 2010 750ML Buy Now: $499, only 2 bottles available
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 94-96 points “The 2010 Mazis-Chambertin is explosive and totally beautiful in every way. Sweet red berries, roses, mint and hard candy come together in a striking display of class. Rousseau says the Mazis gets better with age, a frightening prospect considering just how good the wine is today. An endless, seamless finish is the only fitting conclusion. The Mazis is flat-out great. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2035.”
Antonio Galloni 94-96 points “The 2010 Mazy-Chambertin is explosive and totally beautiful in every way. Sweet red berries, roses, mint and hard candy come together in a striking display of class. Rousseau says the Mazy gets better with age, a frightening prospect considering just how good the wine is today. An endless, seamless finish is the only fitting conclusion. The Mazy is flat-out great.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 1999 750ML Buy Now: $899, only 1 bottle available
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 94+ points “The 1999 Clos des Ruchottes is tussling with the 1996 as the best of the decade. Lucid, almost iridescent in color, the bouquet explodes across the sky with voluptuous aromas of cassis, black cherries and vanilla pod. Brilliantly defined and focused, it is utterly beguiling. The palate is very well balanced with silky smooth tannins that just glide across the mouth. Cashmere! It fans out gloriously toward its crescendo with lush plum and blackberry notes, but underneath there is a minerally core to counterbalance the sheer sexiness of this wine. Fabulous, but you need patience to really appreciate it. Drink 2018-2040. Tasted September 2013.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2001 750ML Buy Now: $799, only 1 bottle available
Burghound 89-92 points “Wonderfully complex nose of plumy, intensely earthy fruit infused with subtle notes of truffle and dried herbs leading to bright, vibrant, medium weight, round and extremely pure flavors that are utterly delicious and seductive. The finish is solidly structured, rich, extremely elegant and pure with outstanding precision. I very much like this as it’s stylish yet with real substance.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2005 750ML Buy Now: $1,199, only 1 bottle available
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 96 points “The 2005 Clos des Ruchottes is far too young to approach at the moment and like many others, it appears to be closing up. Here, the aromatics are closed, broody and stubborn, only reluctantly offering fleeting glimpses of black cherries, incense and minerals. The palate is very pure but distant at the moment, a prodigy without a tongue. But the signs are all here: a firm backbone, layer upon layer of fruit, but a wine that is more impressive than pleasurable at the moment. Got some in your cellar? Keep it there, you lucky thing. Drink 2020-2040+. Tasted September 2013.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2008 750ML Buy Now: $599, only 2 bottles available
Antonio Galloni 94 points “The 2008 Ruchottes-Chambertin is totally fabulous. The wine literally explodes from the glass with layers of berries, flowers and spices. The Ruchottes shows marvelous inner sweetness and considerable vibrancy. This is a head spinning wine from Rousseau.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2009 750ML Buy Now: $899, only 2 bottles available
Burghound 93 points “Ripe and very floral aromas display pure red pinot fruit that is cut with minerality and crushed herbs that introduce earthy and stony middle weight flavors that possess a taut muscularity and excellent power on the beautifully well-balanced and lingering finish. This is a very fresh wine of harmony that should age for decades if well-stored and while it’s not quite at the same level as the brilliant 2005 version, it’s close.”
Stephen Tanzer-Vinous 91-93 points “(aging in 15% new oak) Bright deep red. Knockout aromas of raspberry, rose petal, spices and blood orange offer lovely tangy lift and purity. Then sweet and silky in the mouth, with terrific verve and energy for the year. A wine of great finesse, showing the spicy, floral side of Gevrey. This cuvee has been getting better in recent years. Rousseau attributes this to the fact that he has replanted about 5% of these vines, and the young vines are now bringing more fruit and perfume.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2010 750ML Buy Now: $799, only 1 bottle available
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 95-97 points “The 2010 Ruchottes-Chambertin is an intensely cool, reticent wine. The bouquet recalls the Mazis, but then the firm Ruchottes tannins set in. Ultimately the Ruchottes is built on purity, definition and nuance. The chiseled aromas and flavors possess stunning detail, but it will be some time before the 2010 is ready to drink. Still, I very much like the energy and drive. Bright, floral notes add lift and vibrancy on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2011 750ML Buy Now: $599, only 1 bottle available
Antonio Galloni 95 points “Rousseau’s 2011 Ruchottes-Chambertin dazzles from start to finish. Plums, black cherries, cloves and violets are among the many notes that are alive in the glass. This is a surprisingly rich, explosive Ruchottes endowed with superb depth and more than enough intensity to drink beautifully for many, many years. What a gorgeous wine this is.”
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 94 points “The 2011 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru was aged in a judicious 10% new oak. It has an entrancing bouquet that is a serious level up from the Mazy and Charmes-Chambertins with pure fresh strawberry, raspberry and violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, sensual tannins and a fine line of acidity. This is silky smooth in the mouth, that prudent oak just giving it lift and sensuality. If I were buying 2011 Rousseau, my money would be spent here. Drink now-2025.”
Domaine Armand Rousseau Pere et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru ‘Clos des Ruchottes’ Monopole, Cote de Nuits 2012 750ML Buy Now: $599, only 1 bottle available
Neal Martin-Wine Advocate 94-96 points “The 2012 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru comes from the domain’s monopole: populated by one-third vines aged around 30-years and the remainder around 65-years old (see December issue for more details.) This year it sees 20% new oak. It has wonderful delineation on the nose with heightened mineralite from the limestone soils. The palate is medium-bodied with a precise opening. There is a wave of pure, clinically defined fresh raspberry and wild strawberry notes that dovetails into quite a stern, very linear finish. This is uncompromising at the moment, an aloof yet compelling Ruchottes-Chambertin that does not quite possess the completeness of say, Mugneret-Gibourg’s, but clearly as the substance to age extremely well. ”
Burghound 92-94 points “This is almost as elegant as the Charmes with its airy and cool yet markedly ripe nose of lavender, black raspberry, truffle and spiced plum scents. The beautifully well-delineated, intense and mineral-driven medium weight plus flavors possess fine mid-palate concentration before terminating in an attractively vibrant, harmonious and strikingly persistent finale. Lovely stuff that should also age brilliantly well.”
