Lithe and stylish, this was on our bucket list since first we heard Goodfellow would be crafting Grower-esque bubbles. It captures everything we love about Champagne in a WV-package, with nuance to spare.
Goodfellow Family Cellars Extra Brut, Willamette Valley NV 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 29 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 92 points
“Dusty florals and spices give way to yellow apples and hints of iodine as the NV Extra Brut evolves in the glass. Soothingly round and textured, it sweeps across the palate with ripe orchard fruits and a bead of creamy bubbles. This finishes remarkably clean and pure, leaving a resonance of ripe Anjou pear to linger on. The balance here is unreal. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter.”

Jim Maresh’s Tan Fruit project is one of the hottest tickets in the Valley. His 2019 releases captivated reviewers, and he’s received nothing but enthusiastic support since. This single-vineyard offers a richer and more open palate than the others on offer, making it a great earlier-drinking number that will elevate roast poultry and mushroom-based dishes.
Tan Fruit Anela Vineyard Chardonnay, Chehalem Mountains 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 19 bottles in stock now
Erin Brooks-Wine Advocate 96 points
“The 2022 Chardonnay Anela is singular and savory. Candied peaches and manuka honey mingle with dried sage, roasted hazelnuts and struck flint on the nose, and it teases you with slowly blossoming, spicy undertones. The palate is luxurious and satiny with kaleidoscopic, mouth-coating flavors, and its modest 30% new French oak is already well integrated. It has a foil of laser-like acidity, and its juiciness and hauntingly long finish draw you back to the glass again and again.”

Salty and savory with a refreshing presence, this Sonoma Coast Chard will nicely offset salads, seafood, and roast winter squash.
Flowers Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $34.50, that’s $32.78 at 5% off and $31.05 at 10% off, 23 bottles in stock now
No reviews for the 2023 vintage. Recent review provided for reference.
James Suckling 94 points “This is really tangy and vivid with sliced lemons and green apples with stone and white peaches. Some flowers and botanicals. Medium body. Firm and fine phenolics and a fresh finish. Drink or hold.”

Spicy and flavorful, this orchard-fruit driven Pinot Gris is the perfect wine for pairing with gravy-drenched meats, cheese plates, and sweet potatoes.
Domaine Ostertag Pinot Gris Fronholz, Alsace 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 12 bottles in stock now
Kermit Lynch Importer Note
“Perched on a hillside near the village of Epfig, the Fronholz vineyard is known for producing craggy, mineral-driven Rieslings with bracing acidity. The Ostertag family farms their parcels biodynamically, and the Fronholz’s vibrant mix of fruit and earth, flesh and structure, is their hallmark.”

Need a little sweetness to carry you through from dinner to dessert? This lightly sweet wine from Merkelbach is utterly charming and will showcase roast winter squashes, candied yams, green bean casserole, and spiced pumpkin pie. Dreamy!
Weingut Alfred Merkelbach Kinheimer Rosenberg Riesling Spätlese #2, Mosel 2018 750ml Displayed Price: $31.90, that’s $30.31 at 5% off and $28.71 at 10% off, 20 bottles in stock now
John Gilman-A View From the Cellar 92 points
“The 2018 AP #2 Spätlese from the Rosenberg vineyard has a beautiful touch of exotic fruit to its aromatic constellation, wafting from the glass in a very refined blend of kiwi, strawberry, lime zest, an almost salty expression of slate, apple blossoms and bee pollen. On the palate the wine is vibrant, complex, medium-full and filigreed, with a lovely dollop of fruit at the core, superb mineral drive and grip, zesty acids and a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish. This is such a classic example of middle Mosel Spätlese, with stunning interplay of slate minerality, pure, precise fruit and floral tones. Just lovely. 2020-2050+.”

This bone dry yet hefty rosé practically drinks like a red and is loaded with mineral and fruit notes. Flexible enough for salads and fish, this has the weight for ham and sausage-stuffing, too.
Torre dei Beati ‘Rosa-ae’ Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo 2023 750ml Displayed Price: $19.50, that’s $18.53 at 5% off and $17.55 at 10% off, 36+ bottles in stock now
Billy Norris-Vinous 92 points
“The 2023 Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Rosa-ae is bright, ripe, citrusy and energetic. It rushes forth with notes of blood orange, grapefruit and a distinct current of saline minerality. The acidity is almost electric here, generating a real sense of forward motion that is quite enjoyable. Deep, complex, nuanced hints of lavender and rose linger on the driven, persistent finish.”

Need a red to pair with turkey (or that smoked salmon appetizer)? Look no further that this fantastically-priced single-vineyard from some of the Valley’s oldest and most prized vines.
Evesham Wood Temperance Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $44.50, that’s $42.28 at 5% off and $40.05 at 10% off, 11 bottles in stock now
Decanter 96 points
“Richly mineral, with the elegance evocative of Burgundy. The Temperance Hill Pinot Noir from Evesham Wood is comprised of mostly 1982 planted vines, along with some replanting from 2015. Aromatics of dusty books, pencil lead and dried rose petals announce this beautiful Pinot Noir from one of Oregon’s definitive cru sites. The palate is silken, with fine country hints of rusticity. Dried herbs, tamari and chicory root set a savoury tone met by elements of black tea and red plum skins. Delicious, refined and timeless.”

Richer and bolder than the Evesham Wood on this offer, this balanced Pinot has exotic spice notes backed by lush red fruits. We love sipping Kelley’s wines just about any food you’d like to pair with good friends and conversation.
Kelley Fox Wines Maresh Vineyard Liminal Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $89, that’s $84.55 at 5% off and $80.10 at 10% off, 10 bottles in stock now
Eric Guido-Vinous 92 points
“A mix of blackberries, pine, dusty dried roses and exotic spice wafts up from the 2022 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard Liminal. This is deeply textural with silken waves of tart wild berries, taking on a sour tinge toward the close. It renders the palate completely refreshed, leaving a hint of mint and tart wild berries.”

A classic pairing for good reason: Beaujolais offers a crisp acidity backed with red fruits and spice. In Daniel Bouland’s hands, the ancient vines are elevated to magical levels. Pair with a classic Thanksgiving spread and don’t forget the cranberry sauce!
Daniel Bouland Morgon Les Delys Vignes plantées en 1926, Beaujolais 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $49, that’s $46.55 at 5% off and $44.10 at 10% off, 16 bottles in stock now
William Kelley-Wine Advocate 94 points
“The 2021 Morgon Les Delys Vignes plantées en 1926 is deep and brooding, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries, cherries, exotic spices, cracked black pepper and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a long, resonant finish, it represents a terrific achievement from Bouland.”

Pax Mahle’s style journey has seen the extremes of richness and lightness, but this Hillsides Syrah is evocative yet restrained. Clocking in at only 12.5% abv, this pedigreed wine will wow with peppery and savory notes. Enjoy with herby stuffing and deep fried Turkey.
Pax Sonoma Hillsides Syrah Red, Russian River Valley 2022 750ml Displayed Price: $59, that’s $56.05 at 5% off and $53.10 at 10% off, 11 bottles in stock now
Antonio Galloni-Vinous 94+ points
“The 2022 Syrah Sonoma Hillsides is a blend of several sites. Aging in cement helps retain a good bit of freshness, and that gives this wine quite a different feel from the other Syrahs, all of which are aged in neutral oak. The 2022 doesn’t have the immediacy or flashiness of the very best years, or of the other Syrahs in the range, but readers who can wait will find a wine of magnificent pedigree.”

Dark and savory, this bold red shines with rare roast beef, pork tenderloin, and ratatouille. Open before guests arrive to give the wine time to blossom.
Chateau de Rouanne Vinsobres, Rhone 2019 750ml Displayed Price: $24, that’s $22.80 at 5% off and $21.60 at 10% off, 36+ bottles in stock now
Wine Spectator 92 points
“Delivers a nice saturated feel without being heavy, letting cherry and plum paste notes unfurl slowly, along with violet, licorice root and warm humus accents, which all blossom steadily through the savory finish.”

Looking for a bold Piedmont wine from off the beaten path? Look no further than Vajra’s Freisa. Best described as the wild cousin to Nebbiolo, this fragrant red offers a full body with well-integrated tannins and acidity. Pair with fatty cuts of meat (including turkey legs and thighs!), buttered cornbreads, and creamy sauces.
G.D. Vajra Freisa ‘Kye’ Langhe Rosso, Piedmont 2021 750ml Displayed Price: $36, that’s $34.20 at 5% off and $32.40 at 10% off, 36+ bottles in stock now
Monica Larner-Wine Advocate 92 points
“The G.D. Vajra 2021 Langhe Freisa Kyè has a delicate bouquet with intertwined berry and floral elements that could recall Japanese cherry blossom or even a Sicilian almond blossom. Beyond that, the wine offers an interlude of fresh blue fruits with elderberry and juniper. It shows terrific freshness and more tart flavors to close.”

Domaine Huet

Vouvray: one of the world’s most complex, age-worthy, terroir-driven, aromatically intense, and widely lauded white wines. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more wildly expressive and flexible grape than the Chenin Blanc that composes practically all white wines from Vouvray.

A pioneer in biodynamic viticulture, Domaine Huet is the most sought-after Vouvray producer. Today, horses still plough between the rows of their three vineyards, considered some of the greatest terroir in all of the Loire. These vineyards have very distinct personalities worth exploring. Wines from Le Haut-Lieu are their most approachable, offering softer and younger-drinking wines. Le Mont wines are dense, chock-full of minerals (or should we say chalk-full?), and the most age-worthy, per insiders. Clos du Bourg wines lie somewhere in between the others in terms of youthful approachability and minerality. Gaston Huet, the estate’s famous winemaker for 55 years, considered Clos du Bourg to be the greatest vineyard in Vouvray.

In the winery, the recipe remains relatively simple. Fermentation takes place half in stainless steel, half in old oak, without malolactic fermentation. After only six months, the wines are bottled and then laid to age in a cellar dug from tuffeau rock, no air conditioning required. From here the Huet work is done: the rest is up to nature, and what eventually tastes like divine intervention.
